Limo Garage 2.0

Description
Fully customizable Garage Workshop with a moving Gantry Crane and a new road leading straight into your prison. You can build 8 different garage sizes: normal, wide or tall, with a road in the centre, to the left or to the right side. It's also possible to have several garages on the same road. You can make it a Military garage, where Jeeps instead of Limos arrive on a military truck.

This mod is a hook into my Advanced Roads mod which is also required. Place Limo Garage ABOVE Advanced Roads in your mods list in order to function properly.


USAGE
Place a Limo Garage Installer (found in the Staff menu) and use its buttons to go through the steps of building your own customized garage: place repair, paint and lesson spots where you like them. The crane is dynamic and will adapt your personal layout. A Gantry Crane Control is also needed somewhere in the garage, but a Parts Rack is optional if you only have paint spots.

Keep some space to put a Service Desk and a Filing Cabinet so bills can be paid and drivers can fetch their receipts. You can mark this little area as a Limo Waiting Room, so drivers can hang out here while they are waiting for the Gantry Crane to put their car back on the road.

The only thing you CANNOT do is place default walls or fences inside the garage. The crane will get stuck on those, so as a workaround you can place Limo Walls. People can walk through these walls like the crane, however if you play with deployment (access-only below these walls) and zone the garage room around these walls, you can somehow prevent people from walking through.


OVERVIEW
The garage has a Gantry Crane operated by a Crane Operator which will grab the cars/engines from the Tow Trucks and place them on the designated repair spots. Once placed, the Car Mechanic will open the hood so you can see how much damage the engine has.

Prisoners or Car Mechanics will then start to repair the cars. Depending on how much damage an engine has, it either gets repaired in several repair jobs, or put in a Lesson Car where it gets refurbished, or (if no lesson cars are available) completely dismantled.

Once an engine has been repaired, the Car Mechanic will close the hood. A Limo Bill will spawn which goes to Exports, and some Limo Repair Papers will go to the Limo Filing Cabinet. A Limo Driver will come walking down the garage lane and wait at the ServiceDesk where he gets a Limo Receipt from the Crane Operator. The Gantry Crane will then put the repaired car back on the road so the driver can leave with the car.


CASH FLOW
Engine damage is determined at random when cars are brought in. A more damaged engine = higher bill for the customer. There will also be some Repair Papers spawned, which go into a Limo Filing Cabinet, producing a second Limo Bill for administrative costs. This one also goes to Exports. Both bills will generate a nice income between 250-5000 per repaired car. But it takes a while before a car has been repaired.


BUTTONS
The Gantry Crane Control booth has a button to spawn fresh car spots if you like. But of course you can customize the floor tiles however you want. You can also control the Gantry Crane Speed with a button. For tall garages you might want to set it to Fast, because a garage can be huge. When you build several garages on the same lane, you might need the Make Road button in order to recreate the parking lane inside the garage. In case you want to get rid of the whole garage, press its Delete Garage button and everything related to the garage gets removed instantly.


NEW REFORM
Limo Repair (theoretic) takes place in a Classroom
Limo Repair (practical), takes place in a Limo Garage where students use a Lesson Car.
Both programs need a Car Mechanic.


NEW RESEARCH
You must complete the Limo Garage 2.0 research to be able to use the garage.
This research requires a Foreman, Maintenance and Prison Labour.


NEW ENTITIES
- Car Mechanic: a guy who repairs cars. You can hire as many as you want.
- Crane Operator: a guy who operates the Gantry Crane and writes bills. You only need one per garage.
- Limo Driver: a person will walk down the garage lane to fetch a repaired car and drive away.
- TowTruck Driver: delivers freshly broken cars and new engines with his truck.


NEW OBJECTS
- All objects required for the Limo Garage are found in the Staff menu. You can only place these preview objects when a Garage Installer is present on the map and within range of the specified garage size and placement. While creating your garage layout, you can sell/sack these items and place them again until you are finished. The Filing Cabinet and Service Desk have a button to rotate these objects (they are entities, so rotating them the usual way didn't work). The Limo Preview has a button to toggle between a Repair or a Paint Spot.


NEW QUICKBUILDS
- If you find it easier to use quickbuilds instead of measuring out the garage size yourself, you can use one of the 8 templates available. Of course the size of the garage can't be adjusted with these prefabs. Press the Show Road button on the Limo Garage Installer after the foundation has been completed so you know where the vehicles will drive and where you can start placing the required inventory.


LIMITATIONS
There is a maximum of garages you can place on one road:
3 garages if there is space between them, or
4 garages when they are all adjacent.
This is due to the limitation of 10 gates being controlled by the RoadMarker per lane.
Also keep in mind that a garage (or quickbuild) should be at least 20 tiles from the map top so TowTrucks can spawn and open the gate at the garage correctly. Same for the map bottom: there has to be enough space between the last gate and the map bottom so trucks can close the last gate before they disappear.


NEW CONTRABAND
- Expensive bill, a luxury item for prisoners who thought they could make some money with it when they are released. Unfortunately for them, these papers keep being smelly from the oil fumes in the garage...
- Driver Licence, a luxury item for prisoners which can be found at the Limo Waiting Room.


ROAD GATES
- The Small RoadGate now has a Reset button. Sometimes it might happen that a gate stays locked, for instance if a truck and a limo happen to be there at the exact same moment. You can see this in its tooltip: if the Auth doesn't match the vehicle waiting at the gate, then it (or both vehicles) will wait forever until you reset the gate. Simply press the button on the Road Gate to reset it, so waiting trucks or limos get a new authorization. Resetting the Road Marker itself (on top of the road) shouldn't be needed any more.

Hey short question, yes everything is working, what can I do when a limo (military) is blocking the road waiting for a driver, but no one is showing up?

This mod will be updated with double lane garages and a lot of bug fixes.
