Fair enough.

It's their choice if they want to fix this or not. Main reason for posting is to make people aware of the exact issue so they can be aware and implement their own fix rather than just write off the map as "unplayable".

@Tookatee
This map hasn't been updated since 2019. I really doubt the Dev for it cares about your suggestions or opinion. It's abandoned. But the dev is too lazy to put that in the map name.

So I would suggest replacing them with a different tree or at the very least just removing them entirely. I understand they look nice and do fit aesthetically, but they cause a huge loss in FPS that makes their inclusion problematic.

Just tried to run this map in a mission and a huge issue we encountered was FPS (ranging from a loss of 10-40 FPS in certain areas). We determined the main cause was the significant use of the jungle trees from the Apex DLC in areas such as South America. Specifically t_inocarpus_f.p3d and t_palaquium_f.p3d. Using the Zeus module and/or scripting to manually remove these trees does resolve the concern, but at the cost of removing most forest cover from the continent as those trees are the most common there.

These trees are notoriously poorly optimized, meaning that the use of them in any significant number will result in FPS slowdowns, especially in missions that involve lots of players. This is even further compounded on when it begins to rain. Even on maps like Tanoa this is noticeable, and it has far fewer of those trees.

The best part is the other one has a walking bug that comes with maps larger than 100km.

Check the update dates for the two @george
At the time (2019) the Arma engine threw a tantrum with maps larger than 100km. Now it's 2025 and it can handle them better.
