In game, it is called Illness. It looks like a green cloud and has both a level and duration. At level 3, which I got from a tavern event, it decreases your max faith, sanity and health by 60%, your gathering and crafting by 40%, and movement by 1 -- and lasts 5 rounds.
I was thinking if this ritual could reduce illness then it would be safer to try tavern events, not to mention having a way to help when a random event lays low your gatherer or crafter.
Could you post the effect and in-game name?
The reason I did this for toxins was that people complained about dying to randomly contracted toxins.
I assume illness was just a stat debuff?
