Description
Ride Where You Look
Pick your desired vehicle seat by looking, when
  • getting into a vehicle
  • switching seats inside a vehicle
  • switching seats to use a particular exit
  • hopping from one vehicle to another
  • in Zeus telling an AI which seat to take
  • ACE dragging/carrying/escorting (ACE not required)
  • Keybind to get-in or move-to driver seat
  • Settings and Keybind to FFV Anywhere!

FFV Anywhere
From any vehicle seat, get placed into an FFV turret attached at the same location via CBA keybind.
While in this mode, units may not be visible to regular vehicle occupants, but will be able to see ViV cargo and other FFV enjoyers.
CBA Setting for mission makers and server admins to enable or disable this feature.

Usage
In CBA Keybinds > Ride Where You Look, set up the keys [Show Seats] (L Ctrl) and [Select Seat] (Ctrl + X).
Press and hold [Show Seats] (L Ctrl) to see which seat you are selecting (toggle key option available).
Press [Select Seat] (Ctrl + X) to move to that seat.

Client & Server
This mod can be used client-side for player usage and Zeus controlling local AI. Zeus controlling remote AI will require all machines to load this mod.

Compartments are not considered due to widespread inconsistencies.

Well the important thing is yours allows the rounds to pass through the car. With what I had coded up it was passing through the player shooting it and the passenger as well as the car lol.

Feel free to refer to the GitHub. There's potential pros and cons to both approaches and I did consider what you did as well. I went this way because I've done other empty-vehicle jank before =p

Hey dude, was browsing the Arma 3 discord and found this absolute hidden gem.

I was curious I seen the license is APLSA, would you mind if I isolated the FFV mechanic for a survival server? My goal would be just to isolate those mechanics effectively trimming everything else out if you were fine with it, I have no plans to alter credits.

The FFV mechanics I was working on myself wasn't nearly as good. I did a combination of spawning a projectile from third person camera synced to left clicking for a San Andreas style script, but it's trash, I mean it worked but this is way better.

Have you already looked in the settings?

Would there maybe be a way to change the colour of the seats when shown (highlighted and nonhighlighted)? it would be nice if it was a cba setting

Thanks for the report.

I can confirm the issue where you can get in even when far away from the vehicle still works. Simply bind the "Show seats" key to something where you can move and hold it down while near the vehicle, but then start moving away from it.

Works the same for toggle, if you bind the toggle key to "Ctrl" for example, and bind the switch seat key to just "F". You'll teleport right in.

Add me from Arma 3 discord and we can try.
