AQD - Quality of Life - Core

Description
Current version: 1.7
Please refer to the changelog for patch notes.

This is the core mod of the AQD - Quality of Life modpack.

This mod adds fixes and adjustments as well as some small additions in terms of functionality to the game.

AQD - A Quantum of Depth is a project of mine, encompassing multiple small and larger mods aimed at improving the gameplay experience and eventually overhauling larger parts of the game:

Fixes
  • Drop container parachutes open too late on higher speed settings, as a result they crash into planets.
  • Respawn pods and rovers open up their parachutes at higher altitutes to prevent crashing.
  • Grinder and welder block ranges have been adjusted: no more leftover small blocks lying directly on the grinders, but not getting ground down.

Adjustments
  • Added new camera and turret overlays to allow for more precise aiming.
  • Changed gatling and auto cannon tracers to be significantly more visible.
  • Ore detector ranges have been increased from 150 to 350 and 50 to 150.
  • Spotlights have had their ranges increased from 120 to 360 and 160 to 480.
  • Interior and corner lights have had their ranges increased from a max of 20 to a max of 40.

  • Whiplash141 - For kindly letting me use his Camera Overlay as a base for my own overlay.
  • Meridius_IX / Lucas, SISK & Thraxus - For helping me out a ton with scripts for the mod.

The mod ID you need for the dedicated server is the number at the end of the url on a modpage. There is a setting in the steam browser that always shows the URL up top but if you browse the workshop in another browser it'll show the URL (and thus ID) by default.

Our clique loves the mod pack, however, like others, the ore detector range is an issue. We attempted to remove the mod pack and run just the individual mods so we could have longer range on the ore detectors, but apparently we missed at least one of the mods as we ended up with a pile of parts on restarting the server. Is there a simple list somewhere that lists all the mod IDs that are used?

Breaking it up worked as you said. Thank you.

Unfortunately not because Space Engineers load order is a weird mess - dependencies are always loaded last and overwrite everything else. You'd need to remove the modpack and install the individual mods in it one by one, and then place the other ore detector range mod above QoL core.

Is there a way of disabling the Ore Detector range change? I use other detector mods and it overrides them regardless of load order.

Yup, thank you! It's a good spot.

No worries! I figured there was an oversight or whatever. Figured I'd let you know!

Hm, you're right. I'm not sure why that is in there but not documented. Must have gotten lost when I changed some things in the way I publish my mods. Apologies.

Can confirm that I removed the mod and power consumption is what it should be.

I'm trying to figure out why my laser antenna takes 1/10th the power needed to function. According to the game, the laser antenna has "Mod: AQD - Quality of Life - Core":

Any idea why could this happen?
