Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make a suggestion/give feedback/let you know there's a problem?

Absolutely. I encourage it, even. A lot of my quality is based on feedback, and I try to act swiftly to fix problems despite trying to make sure things work first time round. I am always up for suggestions, and hundreds of models have been created as a result! Join the discord and message me or publicly ask for it. Some of the best ideas come from other people!

Can I use these for my own personal use? How would I do that?

These are available for everyone to use, including developers. You can use tools such as GMPublisher to decompile the .gma and move the appropriate folders over as you wish. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to get in touch. I would politely ask that if you use these models, you credit me! Any workshops you upload you will probably need to link this addon anyway as a 'Required Subscription' item.

I see a small handful of items from L4D2 in this pack, how come they're there?

These are being used in maps I create and are a handy source for some of them as L4D2 isn't a game you can normally mount into GMod - but please note, I haven't ported all of L4D2 here, that would be crazy! There's only a few models I needed.

Where can I see what's been added to the pack already?

Other than the changelog, you can join the community discord which has an update page of its own changelogs. Also featured are more images such as WIP's, previous attempts, current feedback, suggestions and more.

Yep! The map is gm_lifevon and is available for download. Might be a bit janky now. You can test this by typing mat_wireframe 1 in console (requires sv_cheats) and you'll see most of it turn into wireframe.

The Chads dont actually have dedicated bogies. I'm pretty terrible at using them. I would like to make proper ones at some point when I can figure out how I should make them. At the moment there are no more! I recommend using your preferred bogies from other addons in the meantime. It is something I have been meaning to do...maybe that will be my next project for the train pack

I know the Chad's have bogies, but do any of the other models have bogies that Im missing?

For some reason, this addon recently spiked in subscribers! I just want to say thanks to anyone that's new to the pack. I like updating this often. I'd also love to know where you heard about the addon, as it seems totally random that I've had hundreds of subscribers extra than usual over the past few days!

Please join the community if you'd love to see more, see all the updates, make suggestions or give me feedback. This pack will only continue to grow as time goes on, and I'd love your support.

In fact they were modelled for TP3 tracks!

They can absolutely take the curves. If you are finding their weights are too much, I definitely recommend downloading the Weight Tool and making adjustments to the model and the bogies too! I used to make adjustments depending on which maps - some maps like my maps use tight curves, so I needed slightly heavier trains to make sure they stayed put, however that doesn't always apply. It depends on different factors such as speed too

Also, the Chad's seem too heavy to take any tp3 curves, is there something I can do to counter that?

Thanks, you the man!
