NOTICE Viper Class Overhaul has found to be hard incompatible with this mod. Running both together WILL break enemy Vipers, be warned...

Also known as Vipers be Vibin'

This mod by itself adds various animations to the Viper including Photo booth poses and Armoury animations in addition to the ability to customise vipers added by this mod...

This mod adds a new recruit able unit to Xcoms roster:

  • Viper Soldier - Vipers have 1 less health than a normal soldier, but make up for it in +4 mobility and 15 dodge as well as 5 defence. they are also slightly more perspective and have a +10 hacking score over normal soldiers. They also have access to new items as well, known as M.A.W Implants, which grant the Viper their tongue pull, bite attack and spit, which varies in strength and effect based on what M.A.W type it is.

In addition to:
  • 8 Viper variants (4 for each gender) which can be switched between via head type in the customisation menu

  • Almost all Vanilla torso and a few arms, and more for your Vipers to wear with style!

Note: If using Unrestricted Customisation, It is recommended that you toggle 'bUnrestrictedCustomizationInstalled' in 'XcomViperAbilities.ini' to True, for Vipers to reap the full benefit of UC entirely.

New Features
  • Split the mod's animations to a seperate mod, so I no linger have to repackage them in seperate mods.

Planned Features/Upcoming
  • Compatibility with Primary secondaries, Dual wield Swords and shields in the future is possible since I found a way to work around the issue.

Compatibility
  • Currently Incompatible with Cannon animations redux.

  • Other mods that add playable vipers such as Playable aliens are compatible, and both types of vipers will co-exist with each other without conflict in addition of said vipers receiving the animations from this mod. Though Viper Class Overhaul is hard incompatible due to what it changes with the vanilla bind and pull, breaking it's range and who can be bound.

Known Issues
  • XSkin has limited compatibility, as skinning a weapon to another with a unique firing animation, or one with a different animset (I.e: Skinning a Shotgun into a Sniper Rifle) will produce broken animations, either playing the original skinned weapon's firing animation, or having none at all.

Anyone is free to reuse or modify the assets that this mod contains, provided credit is given of course.

For my own local character mod i allowed this character to use the MAW Slot in the XComViperMAWConfig.ini with an appropiate line +AllowedViperCharacterTemplates="mychar".
In Game this character has the MAW Slot, but all Weapons with the weapon category "maw" shows the hint (only for vipers) and can not be equipped.
Other Weapon categories (allowed by the entry +AllowedMAWWeaponCategories="utility") can be equipped to this slot.
Is there any other restriction to vipers in the code? For example for the weapon category?

You don't NEED that stuff to get Vipers, but it will work. Without it, you can still get them the way Pico said in the previous comment.

You suppose to have fulton reward and extract corps mods, also having non lethal mod would be nice here so you can basically stun viper or weakened them enought (3hp or less i think), subdue themn extract them with fulton or hold them unconcious then recruit them trought the interrogation facility.
Forgot to say than to pull that one, you need interogation and recruitment mod, there is also a mod to get the viper king this way, the viper king is a bit buggy with mod but he is still very strong.

Vipers can be recruited in their own section of the Avenger menus, or you can find them in the Grey Market.

Well... now the 'bind' ability sometimes just doesn't have extra options for more attacks (after binding the enemy).

Tongue Pull -> Bind -> No options for Choke/Crush/Subdue. No idea what causes it

Do you have the viper implants equipped? Even without upgrades, they still need a basic implant for the abilities to work properly.

So I have an issue; maybe anyone here has had it and know how to fix it: none of the viper have their spit and tongue pull abilties (neither for enemy or allies). Torque, a viper squadmate modded in the game from Chimera squad that uses allies unknown starts with the tongue pull and spit abilities in the very first mission of the game where she shows up; but after promoting her (and mostly likely even without promoting her) the tongue pull and spit abilities are just gone. Other Vipers never have the abilities in the first place.

Anyone any idea due to what this is? I'm using the Alternative Mod Launcher and it makes not warning about conflicts with the mod.
