Description
Hard Mode Difficulty Mod

Now compatible with Plant and Cook, Eat. Drink. Sleep. Repeat! and other mods that require getting organics from stone. You now must reprocess gravel to filter out organic particles.

Introduction
This is the core of the Hard Mode Difficulty Mod. It will work as is but you should add other mods to compliment it.
Use this file to build your own modpack from scratch.

There is also a Brutal mode (comming soon).

This mod is intended to be played on, Custom game: Star System. although other game types probably work as the mod is very flexable.

Features
  • Major changes to oxygen balance increasing the value of oxygen and oxygen generation.
  • Major rebalance to increase the value of hydrogen and put a bottle neck in the production system.
  • Added variation in stone types. (Refined Stone - available as separate mod.)
  • Altered yields of some ores and stone types.
  • Custom ore maps including asteroids. (The Other Ore Mode TOOM - available as separate mod.)
  • Reduced surface ore rock count
  • Nerfed player jetpack.
  • Tweaked overall power demand a little.
  • Increased the need for more exploration and gave reason for space travel.
  • More damage from not breathing.
  • Tweaked meteors to give different options.
  • Weather has been tweaked slightly to be a little more draining.
  • Rebalanced lightning (annoying is not the same as difficult Keen). Small grid builds now viable in normal weather (in Hard Mode).
  • Everyone now has the mass equal to that of a small lioness, do with this information as you will.
  • Station prices tweaked.
  • Added new weather.
  • Added less common ‘deadly weathers’. These can hurt your small grids so protect them.
  • Reduced mob drops (wuff and spider)
  • Some components may cost a little more to make now.
  • Interior turret got a tiny damage boost as the weapons 1 updated nerfed it just a hair too far for my liking. No other weapons changes have been made.
  • Changes to planets all over.
  • Changed progression tree to make decoys available without having to build turrets, cos lightning.
  • Custom respawn ships/pods/rovers.
  • Probably other stuff I forgot to note down \o.o/_,

Known issues
Minor: Organics lacks an in world texture. This doesn’t not hinder game play at all.

After some tests, i discovered the "Suffocation damage" that seems to occur everywhere no matter how much oxygen is in the air is due to vents. Any grid that has a vent on it causes this issue. It doesnt matter if it's depowered or depressurized, ect... If it's physically connected to the grid, you will suffocate if the area is not pressurized.

I have a question about oxygen consumption. I really like the weather that sucks the oxygen out of the air, giving me a reason to rush to a pressurized space. However, i'm noticing when oxygen is fine like on earthlike, as soon as I get near my small grid rover, i start taking damage. Is this intentional?

I really wish this mod was configurable. There is a lot of elements i like but some (mostly the oxygen consumption being way to fast) that i really don't like and would love to configure

Humanity has learned to live in space, but it does not know how to store oxygen. It looks very strange. There are other ways to complicate life, based on very real problems. For example, Batteries with zero starting charge. Hydrogen fuel consisting of two components - Hydrogen and Oxygen, etc.

I seem to be taking suffocation damage everywhere, even in high oxygen zones like earth. If the area isn't pressurized I start suffocating with the helmet open. Is this intended?

Does this mod have the AddMaps to show ore location? Or is it without them?

It is working, I just created the refinery in the creative mod and the stone entered it normally, in the survival kit also worked normally. I think it is some mod that I put just bugged, sorry I'll try to find which is!

(Refined Stone) - do I need to activate this mod as well or is it already inside - CAT - Hard Mode Difficulty Mod (core) v1.6


the survival kit is working normally, the stone that goes into it generates the resource, only the STONE INCINERATOR - the stones are not going in.
