from my own experience with them i would say they are only the cherry on top that brings the whole worldsituations out of balance.
what do you have going on in the world? any large amounts of floating objects that werent properly cleaned up? any very large moving grids? anything floating around inside the voxel?
they are probably on them cause you told mes to use the shield randomization feature, it has an option to blacklist stuff so that it doesnt get shields.
