Description
Make "wedding" and "pet getting hunted" into a letter, instead of just a message.

Have you ever have a dead pet because you didn't notice the tiny message on the top left of your screen? Or missed a wedding because you are dealing with a mechanoid raid? Then this mod is for you!

This mod make the "wedding" and "pet getting hunted" into their own letter! Now you will never miss a wedding or colony pet getting hunted event ever again!

FAQ:

Is it safe to add mid-game?

Should be, however do keep in mind that:
  • Events such as marriage prior to to this mod will stay as messages!
  • Only message that signify the start, such as "Colonists are gathering to celebrate" message will be turned into letter!
  • Subsequent message after start of event will stay as message! ie beginning marriage, ceremony called off etc will still be messages

Thus, starting on a new save is recommended!

Why is my pet being hunted not notified?

RimWorld only consider an animal "pet" when you name them. IE Immediately tamed animal is only a "pet" AFTER being named by player.

Is it safe to remove mid-game?

Should be, back up before attempting.

This Mod does not work in V1.5 .

This mod showed no initial errors, but when used alongside the beta version of the rimasquerade mod, it spammed red errors and removed the hediff that made kindred vulnerable to sunlight.

Apparently, when this mod encounters a message it doesn't recognize, it borks out and causes the offending hediff to be deleted as collateral damage. If/when this mod gets rewritten, it will need to be redesigned to fail more gracefully.

I only found the conflict by trial and error. It's a hilariously epic bug, I was not expecting it at all.

Would love to see this updated for 1.5 as well. I have missed the last 2 marriages in my cute little chapel and I am so bummed.

This mod needs working on for 1.5. No errors are logged initially, but when testing (damage til down) in dev mode the game failed to report pawns needed rescuing and threw up errors at this point. Error log below:

I made an add-on for this that offers up a letter for when a pawn (colony or prisoner) has recovered (no longer incapable of walking) mobility. The usefulness of which for pawns depends on play-style.

For example, if one prefers to micro-manage colonist tasks, or check on current health status. The main intent however, is for prisoner interaction - specifically releasing for rep ASAP or in the case of Prison Labour mod put them to work)

Given that there is no change in rep gain regardless of prisoner health, releasing prisoners before full health recovery will save a lot of time and resources. If ones intent is to sell prisoners (not recommended due to debuffs) into slavery, please note that the healthier they are, the more profitable they become.
