BMCE Addon - Black Mesa Character Expansion Revised

Description
IMPORTANT! This mod requires original BMCE to be installed first to function, read the discussions to check how this and BMCE should be installed. Credits and README sections can also be found from there. Also consider checking out out official lore guide for this mod.

DISCLAIMER! BMCE and BMCER are two very different projects being worked on by two very different teams with very different goals. BMCER does use very large amount of assets from BMCE, but this doesn't mean these two projects are one and the same or associated with each other. BMCER is officially associated with only HECU:R, HECU:RE and BMCER:A. Any other mods using BMCER assets are not officially endorced by BMCER team or affiliated with us.

Black Mesa Character Expansion Revised, BMCER for short, is expansion to popular BMCE mod which introduces new models, features and bug fixes. BMCER began its life as a simple attempt to rework BMCE's character manifest to add even more character variety and to address bugs that were present at the time, but it has evolved in to full fledged unofficial expansion/remaster of it since then. Just like original BMCE, BMCER is both its own mod and a modder's resource for anybody to use towards their own projects, Black Mesa-related or otherwise. This is to say, you may use any assets included in this pack provided and as long as us (BMCER Team) and those whose assets we have used are credited correctly.

BMCER includes the following:

  • EASIER INSTALLATION PROCESS - Only non subjective bad thing about BMCE is how notoriously hard time some people have installing it. This mod streamlines the process a little bit as an attempt to make it easier, just put this mod and BMCE files in your custom folder and you are done, no decompiling needed. Take a look at the discussions for more detailed installation instructions.

  • REWORKED ARTSTYLE - BMCER completely overhauls majority of human NPC textures to make them higher quality and to achieve its own unique style to differentiate it from BMCE and other mods of similar nature. Our new artstyle is mix between general GoldSrc aesthetic, HL1 style and more grounded BMS style. Basically this means our models take lot more inspiration from GoldSrc HL1, its expansions and various mods such as Hard Life and Half Life Extended than the base game ever did.

  • EXPANDED AND IMPROVED MODELS - BMCER modifies every single human model from vanilla game and BMCE to add tiny details here and there, address bugs and inconsistencies, both big and small, while also offering maximum amount of variety without venturing too much into realm of unbelievability. This includes ID badges, different gloves, overalls, pens in pockets, respirators, suspenders, alternative worker caps and so much more! Several new models have been added as well, such as administration personnel, technician- and logictis workers, female cleansuit scientists, female office workers, cleansuit workers and OSHA inspectors!

  • ADDITIONAL SCIENTIST TYPES - Black Mesa now truly is equal opportunity employer and no longer discriminates against hiring overweight scientists. Scientists can now also be given a promotion to senior scientist and get the same white shirt tan sweater vest combo Dr. Keller had, or green shirt and a skirt like HL1 Alpha female scientist. Lambda Complex Xen survey team have been given special blue off-site uniform inspired by HL1 concept art. Scientists can also copy Gordon and don a HEV suit of their own. You may even spot the legendary Einstein scientist lurking around the place.

  • ADDITIONAL GUARD TYPES - Black Mesa security force has been expanded with jackets for night shifts, option for mall cop style untucked pants, 8point caps for extra style points, bodyguards for certain administration personnel (men in black basically), Black Mesa Transit Authority, tactical First Response security (the SWAT force of Black Mesa) as well as separate HEV security units for Biodome and Lambda Complex

  • REVISED HECU - HECU have been split in to two groups, Incident Reaction Force and DOE security force aka the on-site military. Incident Reaction Force have camo helmets and PCVs, while DOE security keep black helmets and green vests. They are still all part of HECU, they just have minors differences in gear and uniform insignia. Their models have however been expanded to include toggleable rucksacks and holsters, goggles on helmet, combat knives, tactical flashlights, land warrior headsets, fingerless gloves and more beret variety plus additional woodland versions of 8point and boonie. Also added HECU engineers from Half Life: Opposing Force (no they cant use welding torches unfortunately), HECU pilots in topside areas and even robogrunts from German versions of Half Life 1 to bolster their forces.

  • EXTENDED SUPPORT FOR HAZARDOUS ENVIRONMENT COMBAT UNIT REMASTERED - Hazardous Environment Combat Unit Remastered aka HECUR is fully supported by BMCER, and its models get even more bodygroup variety when using these two together. All the changes from Revised HECU still apply to HECUR, but BMCER also allows them to use MOPP hoods, arm mounted PCVAID computers, ammo belts and knee pads.

  • ENHANCED CHARACTER MANIFEST AND FACIAL VARIETY - Character manifest has been expanded upon to make use of all the models and bodygroups included in the mod. BMCER Does its best to make sure every single NPC (or at least their corpses) you meet during the Black Mesa campaign is unique. In addition to the ones already present in vanilla game and BMCE, BMCER includes over 100 new faces textures! You will still see twins, especially among HECU, but you can be assured Black Mesa staff is more varied than ever before.

  • RESTORED PRE-RELEASE CONTENT - BMCER adds recreations of some pre-release content from BMCE as well Black Mesa itself. Pens in scientist pockets and security guard shoulder mics from first BMS trailer and more detailed holsters from early model renders, latter two recreated from leftover textures and first one using the original bodygroup, have found their new home in BMCER. Also remakes/reimaginings of cut/unused BMCE content, enhanced Hazard Course entries, HECU engineers, green HECU caps, female office workers, paramedic with stethoscope, security guards with high vis vests, striped office worker shirts and office worker security vests/helmets have been added to spice up the the variety. Doctor Kleiner has also been remastered to more closely match his 2012 BMS version while staying consistent with the quality standards of BMCER.

  • EXTENDED AND RESTORED VOICELINES - BMCER doesnt just offer visual variety, but also auditory. It comes with version of CitizenFives Extended Captions and Dialogue mod that, among other smaller changes, has been edited to include F5Man's female guard voicelines.

@WalbrechtGaming Either uninstall everything except BMCE and BMCER and then add mods back one by one or make a collection any mods you have in custom folder or from workshop and then post link to it here

two things
why are the guards and scientist missing ID cards?
why is the HECU still missing helmets after instaling the HECU remaster?

@IKEAShark Could be mod conflict, either uninstall all mods except this and BMCE and start adding them back one by one to see which causes it or mske collection of ALL the mods you are using, no matter if they are installed in custom folder or loaded via workshop, for me to check.

@ꂑꂑꂑꂑꂑꂑ I agree it would be realistic, but we prefer OpFor style HECU look so its not going to get changed. Also I dont do alternative versions of mods so making edit of character manifest where they all use gasmasks isnt planned either.

Fantastic work, but, gas mask soldiers are very rare now. Considering that whole BMRF area is contaminated with freaking alien fauna and meaty aliens teleporting in, it would make sense to encounter only MOPP guys. Lore guide literally confirms that BMRF is not just funded, but straight up under government control, so they obviously knew what they're gonna deal with. Why on earth would they deploy mfs without helmets wearing goofy ahh hats and short sleeves? Really? Because i see mostly them. I would love to see a manifest or another mod with gas mask troops only, really not a fan of this Opposing Force type crap

I like the robogrunts, could you make a mod that replaces all HECU with robots with voices that sound robotic???
