Description




Have you suffered any of the following problems while playing a modded Rimworld game?

- Wondering why wheat from Vanilla Expanded does not work with recipes from Medieval Overhaul?
- EM - Metals Bronze not being interchangeable with the one from VFE - Classical?
- Double of the same resource not being interchangeable?

Say no more, my friend! I've got a solution for you that won't involve tedious XML patching








I suppose I have to teach you how to use this mod, so here we go:

Step 1

- Go to the mod settings and search for resource dictionary, then search for the resource you want to manage.



Step 2


- Select the resource you want to use as primary and enable Activate deduplication

Step 3

- Restart the game

Step 4

- Profit???


All recipes and blueprints will be made compatible once you reboot the game!



The resource or thing you want to change is not there? i.e: Using iron from EM - Metals to build items that need Iron Ingots from Medieval Overhaul. No problem! It can be easily solved.

Step 1

- Click add new thing.

Step 2

- Search for the item you want




Step 3

- Select the one you want as primary and enable Activate deduplication


Step 4

- Restart the game



Load order?

- After all mods and before RocketMan

Will the secondary resources disappear?

- No, they will still work as normal. (Show on quests, traders, etc.)

Mod removed mid game?

It should automatically reset its settings to prevent bugs. In case it doesn't work, you doo the following:

- Head to the following directory:

your user profile\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios

- Delete the config file.

Because someone will ask about Cherry Picker

- Resource Dictionary works in a differnet way from that mod. Cherry Picker just removes any references to defs, while Resource Dictionary rerouts all references to the main def instead.
So if mod B adds X resource and has a workbench using it, then after selecting another resource as the main one, the workbench will use it instead of the previously mentioned resource.
That means Cherry Picker can be used to just get rid of a certain thing, while Resource Dictionary is simply used to avoid duplicated useless resources. They can both work simultaneously and won't conflict at all. Also works with plants, trees, weapons, apparel, floors, and nearly everything in the game.

Because someone will ask... part 2: CE

- Combat Extended is the third leading cause of death in the Rimworld community, right after serial killer Cassandra and Luciferium abuse. With that being said, I wonder: will this really need patching at all...? I mean, probably it does, but to be honest I don’t know nor do I care.
I am incredibly disappointed in you using CE, so please stop trying to contact us, you’ve already been disowned and plunged your family into chaos. Please delete this number.

Would be great to have a button, like «overlay», that adds small buttons wherever it's possible to change something about that item like texture or something. A global wish:

I attempted to merge the macci plant and corn plant within the medieval mod environment. However, upon attempting to reset, the original macci asset was not restored—it instead overwrote the corn texture. Despite having deleted all files related to RimWorld by Ludeon Studios, uninstalling the game and all associated mods, and then re-downloading everything, the issue persists. Could you please advise whether any merged files might be stored in an alternative location?

What about adding mid-game in 1.6? In 1.5 this wasn't possible as saves that didn't have the mod from the start didn't load.
