P4 - Pufferfish

Description
Honk Industries™ presents its latest salvage job: the P4 - Pufferfish.
Refloated from the abyss after a tragic reactor accident, the Pufferfish has been fully repaired and outfitted, and stands ready for individual missions or for an extended campaign.

The P4 – Pufferfish is a unique overhaul of the T4 – Tetradon by Talseer. The hull has been expanded, all circuitry has been completely rewired, and countless improvements and new features have been added.

NOTE: The Pufferfish is 100% vanilla -- it will work with or without any mods installed. However, before starting a multiplayer game with the Pufferfish, it is strongly advised that all crew members install and activate the following mods to prevent lag:

Specifications:
Top Speed
38 KPH
Max Descent
20 KPH
Max Ascent
18 KPH
Max Output
15,000 KW
Price
10,000 mks
You will need to set starting funds to "large" to use this sub in a campaign.

Balance:
Although the Pufferfish is fast and versatile, and its guns provide nearly 360 degree protection, the reactors have degraded over time, and they struggle to power and recharge all systems simultaneously (with the engines alone consuming as much as 12,000 MW). Successful operation of the Pufferfish involves thoughtful electricity management. Additionally, two glass rooms (the Observatory and the Crow's Nest) act as weak spots, having 25% less hp compared to the rest of the outer hull, and having no internal hull layer at all.

Noteworthy Features

Shotgun:
The Pufferfish features a 5-in-1 coilgun shotgun.

A lever toggles the shotgun between wide and narrow spread.

Brig:
The Armory includes a state-of-the-art Brig. Alarms sound when prisoners attempt to escape.

To stop the spread of husk infection, an auto-sanitation system can be used to sterilize residual organic matter detected inside of the Brig. Misuse of the auto-sanitation system and any resulting human rights violations will be reported to Space Court for prosecution!

Reactor Control:
Monitors in Reactor Control provide a detailed breakdown of where electricity is being generated, and where it is going.

Besides the two nuclear reactors, Reactor Control also includes a backup battery, an alien generator, and a toggle that siphons electricity out of the drone and back into the Pufferfish.

Engine Control:
The mechanic is responsible for juggling the Pufferfish's three large engines: turning them off and on as battery charge allows, and swiftly turning on all three engines when the Pufferfish needs to escape danger.

In addition to being toggled on or off, the engines can be set to run using battery charge or to run on direct power. A terminal controls the engine battery recharge rate.

Command Room:
The most technologically advanced room on the Pufferfish is the Command Room.

A navigation terminal with three buttons, twelve additional switches/buttons, and two periscopes provide the captain with the maximum number of options for dealing with all threats, both external and internal.

Railgun:
The forward-mounted railgun can be manually aimed and fired from the Observatory.

When finished, press a lever to reset the railgun to point straight ahead, allowing the captain to fire the railgun like a torpedo from the navigation terminal.

Breaker Room:
Electricity supply to any system can be individually cut off via levers in the Breaker Room.

Red lights indicate that electricity has been cut off to a given system.

Bomb Bay:
The Pufferfish's depth charge launcher is fully enclosed inside the Bomb Bay. This prevents depth charges from being knocked out of the launcher when the Pufferfish scrapes against the ocean floor.

A button in the Command Room opens the Bomb Bay hatch, and a yellow indicator light tells the captain that the hatch is open and that it's safe to launch a depth charge.

Security Cameras:
The Pufferfish contains ten security cameras strategically positioned throughout the sub.

This empowers the captain to more precisely determine the source of leaks, to identify boarders, and to monitor the crew for signs of disloyalty.

Remote Drone Control:
The drone can be piloted remotely from Drone Control. As a space-saving measure, Drone Control is part of Ballast A when not in use.

Information displayed on the drone control terminal includes drone battery charge by system and remaining distance to maximum communications range.

Direct Drone Control:
The drone can also be piloted directly as a mini-submarine.

Equipped with a hospital bed and a medical locker, the drone can act as an ambulance for wounded dive teams. The onboard storage shelf also makes it an effective resource mule for mining or salvage operations.

Motion-Activated Doors:
All doors on the ship are motion-activated, opening and closing automatically (except the Upper Airlock doors). Hatches also close automatically (except the Bomb Bay hatch).

When a room is flooded, however, any adjoining doors will not open automatically, to prevent floods from spreading. The door buttons turn blue to indicate flooding and that the door must be opened manually. (Full credit: this feature was copied from The Iroh by Quint.)

Mysterious Terminal:
An insane AI trapped inside a terminal in Ballast A offers a series of quests, promising powerful rewards...

Thanks for the feedback Vigour! I loaded up the sub in editor and tried putting various holes in the Drone and in Ballast A and the bots were able to repair both successfully. I also took a second look at the waypoints to see if there were any more optimizations I could do and I couldn't find any. If you're playing a multiplayer game and your bots are not repairing effectively, it might be more of a lag problem than a sub problem -- did you install and activate performance fix? Also consider fabricating a PUCS suit for each of your bots -- if you put a PUCS suit on your bots they never take it off and it solves the issue of bots repeatedly putting on and taking off dive suits when they have a job they should be doing.

Bots have a hard time with leaks in the Drone and Ballast A, they mostly just put on a dive suit and then flop around/idle while they slowly run out of air. Might need some remapping of those areas

Lol, dude you didnt put any of your wires in the walls.. you can hide wires like 1 dot next to another. here i make a picture of my current perfected Kastrull so you can see the wires...both connected sides of the wire can literally be right next to each other, this is a great sub though, i want to nick that 5shot Coilgun and put it on the back door of my Kastrull at the bottom, thanks... in advance...if i can finish ripping out of your design XD

This is one of the coolest submarines I've seen. Will have to get a campaign going with this one!

I searched 'Pufferfish' to see how my sub was doing on the workshop when i found this. We took opposite approach to design. Your sub has all the features, mine is minimal. This has a more realistic pufferfish shape, mine is comical. Still gonna check it out =]
