1.A student of the sciences, he sought out long forgotten practices thinking himself a pioneer. Nevertheless, his research papers had caught the attention of a secret society. Through a common colleague, they inducted him and entrusted him to explore a recently excavated ruin.
2.I don't know what the starting line should be but the ending line should be "He returns to the order seemingly empty handed, withholding the fork from his superiors, overcome with visions of a glorious machine."
