*NOTICE* All of my screenshots are taken with my certified potato pc™.
This means (at least in theory) that my custom units will look better on your high-end machine (if you do have one).
So don't be scared off by my horrible screenshots, thanks.

*NOTICEX2* All of these custom models are LOD 0 only.
This means that (aside from the units' impostor models generated at long distances) these custom units will not lose details when zooming out.
This may result in a minor or moderate impact on your FPS.

Please notice that the units' stats screenshot was taken with the unit size setting set to large, so expect more HP if you are playing on Ultra.

This mod adds the following units for the Dwarfs, respectively:

-Dwarf Steam Tank
-Dwarf Steam Tank (Flame ammo)
-Dwarf Steam Tank (Grudge Rocket Battery)

They are all available through the Dwarf Engineer and the Spirit of Grungni's Artillery Workshop building chains.
You'll also need a tier 2 Dwarf smith as an additional building.
They all have custom destroyed models.

Ok, presentation over: let's dive into the technical stuff!

*COMPATIBILITY*

As far as I know this mod works with pretty much everything that do not mess too much with vanilla units.
Should be usable with an ongoing campaign but in my opinion You should not take any chances and use this mod on a brand new campaign to avoid any problems.

*KNOWN ISSUES*
-Some clipping with the Steam Tank Dwarf Commander models.
-Upon death this unit will briefly spawn the original Empire Steam Tank model before loading the custom Dwarf Steam Tank destroyed model, no idea why.
-While the Dwarf Steam Tank (Grudge Rocket Battery) has custom coloured rockets, the ones used by the volley ability will always be the red ones: that's due to the fact that you can only assign a single rigid model as projectile for ranged attacks/abilities.
-Custom wheels are not animated and will not move, the only wheels that are currently functioning are the original Empire Steam tank's wheels (which are currently still visible if seen from certain angulations and/or with camera mods)
-If You are experiencing weird glowing effects on the units then please use this mod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2922534576 until CA officially fixes that issue.
-Missing textures with certain graphic settings/while looking from certain angles: LOD issues/missing textures issues can be caused by low settings, LOD mods, Immortal Empires BETA bugs and/or even some faulty version of H3ro asset editor.
Translated= I generally can't do anything about that.
If you are experiencing low poly models+missing textures related to the current state of the game there isn't a common solution that works for everyone, but I managed to fix that by doing the following:
-Disable Sharpening
-Enable FXAA
-Enable Unlimited video memory

*UPDATES POLICY*

Let me be straight with you...when the mod status change from updated to outdated....if you start to spam in the comment section things like "update pls, OMG UPDATE, can we have an update my good sir?, UpDaTe!1!1!1" and similar stuff....know that https://media.giphy.com/media/e3URFlLQywEPC/giphy.gif


...But jokes aside: please don't do that.
When it becomes necessary, and when I can, I will update my stuff, do not worry.

*QA*

-"Are those banners using faction's colours or fixed colours?"
Faction's colours!

-"Any chance to get custom animation/animated props for these units in future?"
Not by me.
I don't make custom animations.
Feel free to make any kind of submod (including animation improvements submods), you have my permission.

-"Any chance to get units/heroes/lords on top of those tanks?"
Not interested in custom mounts, sorry.
That would probably require custom animations anyway.
Again: feel free to make any kind of submod, you have my permission.

-"Lord's Red line?Tech buffs?"
I gave them generic Dwarf and artillery sets so they should get buffs related to those sets.

-"SFO/Radious ecc. ?"
As a matter of fact I'm officially retired from SFO/Overhaul related mods.
As always: If you already have previous experience in SFO submodding feel free to make an SFO version out of any of my mods that are currently missing one, I will link your submods if you provide me with a link.

-"Your mods are ugly and janky, why? just why?"
Here's a friendly reminder: I'm just an amateur and nothing more.
If you want beautiful stuff with no jank then stick with CA and/or professional modders and avoid my mods, simple as that really.

Update: my investigation resulted in a whole lot of nothing, sadly.
I still don't know if this change to the Steam Tank Turret's hatch door position is either a bug or an intended and permanent change that CA "forgot" to communicate.
As such I have decided to "fix" the issue by forcing the hatch to stay half opened and vertical as it should be.

So, I'm not 100% sure yet, but there is currently a visual issue with this custom Steam tank turret's hatch door being fully opened and horizontal when it should be just half opened and vertical and this is causing major clipping issues.
The thing is that I manage to replicate the same issue with vanilla Steam tanks.
It's currently unclear to me if this is a bug or yet another change from CA: I'm still not sure if I need to fix this by myself or wait for another CA's hotfix.
I'll keep you posted.

Hey, thanks for the awesome mod!
I´m on a Malakai campaign atm and noticed a bug. Maybe it comes from a conflict with other mods, but I noticed when upgrading either the smithy or the engineering building from T4 to T5 i can no longer recruit the tanks in that region.

No, not from me at least.
As it stated in the QA's section of this mod at the "Any chance to get units/heroes/lords on top of those tanks?" question, I made it clear that I generally don't care for custom mounts.
You can recruit this unit with Malakai through the Dwarf Engineer and the Spirit of Grungni's Artillery Workshop building chains, though.
