Imperial Ogres

Description
*NOTICE* All of my screenshots are taken with my certified potato pc™.
This means (at least in theory) that my custom units will look better on your high-end machine (if you do have one).
So don't be scared off by my horrible screenshots, thanks.

*NOTICEX2* Some of the assets featured in this mod are LOD 0 only.
This means that some assets will not lose details when zooming out.
This may result in a minor or moderate impact on your FPS.

*Please consult the Known Issues and QA sections before commenting, thanks.*

Please notice that the units' stats screenshot was taken with the unit size setting set to large, so expect more HP if you are playing on Ultra.

This mod adds the following units for the Empire, respectively:
-Imperial Maneaters
-Imperial Maneaters (Ironfists)
-Imperial Maneaters (Great Weapons)
-Imperial Maneaters (Ogre Pistol)
-Imperial Leadbelchers
-Imperial Crushers (Ironfists)
-Imperial Crushers (Great Weapons)

They are all capped at 4.
You'll find them in the main Empire's Barrack building chain.
Please notice that you'll also need a tier 2 forge as additional building.
They have both fixed coloured variants and Faction-based coloured variants.
They also have access to custom officers.
Imperial Leadbelchers have custom cannons.
I'm probably going to add more variants/stuff in future.

Ok, presentation over: let's dive into the technical stuff!

*COMPATIBILITY*

As far as I know this mod works with pretty much everything that do not mess too much with vanilla units.
Should be usable with an ongoing campaign but in my opinion You should not take any chances and use this mod on a brand new campaign to avoid any problems.

*KNOWN ISSUES*
-Minor clipping here and there.
-Some faction's colours may be displayed as brighter or darker than normal, that's due to custom masks shenanigans and my inexperience with custom masks in general.
-If you are experiencing weird glowing effects on the units then please use this mod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2922534576 until CA officially fixes that issue.
-Missing textures with certain graphic settings/while looking from certain angles: LOD issues/missing textures issues can be caused by low settings, LOD mods, Immortal Empires BETA bugs and/or even some faulty version of H3ro asset editor.
Translated= I generally can't do anything about that.
If you are experiencing low poly models+missing textures related to the current state of the game there isn't a common solution that works for everyone, but I managed to fix that by doing the following:
-Disable Sharpening
-Enable FXAA
-Enable Unlimited video memory

*UPDATES POLICY*

Let me be straight with you...when the mod status change from updated to outdated....if you start to spam in the comment section things like "update pls, OMG UPDATE, can we have an update my good sir?, UpDaTe!1!1!1" and similar stuff....know that https://media.giphy.com/media/e3URFlLQywEPC/giphy.gif


...But jokes aside: please don't do that.
When it becomes necessary, and when I can, I will update my stuff, do not worry.

*QA*

-"Why caps?"
Mainly to prevent the Empire AI to spam Ogre stacks.

-"Lord's Red line?Tech buffs?"
I gave them generic Empire's infantry unit sets so they should get buffs related to those sets.

-"SFO/Radious ecc. ?"
As a matter of fact I'm officially retired from SFO/Overhaul related mods.
As always: If you already have previous experience in SFO submodding feel free to make an SFO version out of any of my mods that are currently missing one, I will link your submods if you provide me with a link.

-"Your mods are ugly and janky, why? just why?"
Here's a friendly reminder: I'm just an amateur and nothing more.
If you want beautiful stuff with no jank then stick with CA and/or professional modders and avoid my mods, simple as that really.

Sorry, I don't take direct requests but only suggestions.
Anyway, I would like to reiterate what I said a few comments below: *"It should also be noted that getting the "right look" for custom Maneaters can be really tricky at times."*
Messing too much or not messing enough with their look can quickly turn out in meh/bad looking custom Maneaters and getting just the right balance can be a lot challenging.
I like the idea of Norscan Maneaters, but I'm not sure when/if i'm going to cover them at all, since I don't feel confident enough in getting the "Norscan look" right.

It's doable but I'm not interested, sorry.
The point of this mod is to give thematic Maneaters to the Empire and that's pretty much it.
I kinda agree that it would somewhat also make sense to have them included with Ogre factions but I think that that goes beyond the scope and point of this mod.
It would be better to make a dedicated submod, but again, I'm not really interested in giving these units to Ogre factions and I can't see any submodder doing a submod like that in the near future.
It should also be noted that having multiple identical (at least for stats and ui) Maneater units would create confusion and bloat inside the Ogre factions' roster.

So never say never but don't keep your hopes up too much either.
It should also be noted that getting the "right look" for custom Maneaters can be really tricky at times.
You really need to get just the right balance with assets because otherwise you end up with silly looking Ogres trying to cosplay, in a bad way, as their faction rather than looking as believable thematic Maneaters.

Uh, nah Modding is pretty much the last thing I would do if I was bored.
The sheer amount of tedious stuff I need to do to achieve "decent" (and most of my mods look like trash anyway) looking custom units between custom asset making, unit cards and portholes, database stuff, testing and screenshots, usually take me 3 to 4 days at best and IF I'm fast, otherwise it usually takes a week or even more.
It's definitely something that you should start not because you are bored but because you got an idea and you are ready to fully commit on said idea which in turn means that you either go in with the right mindset or don't go at all.
Personally I don't dislike the idea of Cathayan Ogres since Maneaters can serve under any faction but I don't feel particularly inspired by it either.
It's probably because of all of these things that I stopped at the Imperial Ogres and never made anything similar or went for a full "Thematic Maneaters" mod.
