Description
MARCH 17 2025:
Did a small update of things I wanted. Just search for "BL-IRREG" for the new material. I did have to re-sign the keys, so hopefully that doesn't cause anyone an issue. The new stuff is just a eclectic mix of Takistani lizard style camo, more frogskin, ERDL lowland + highland + m81.

Simply put, this was a little fun project for a mission with my friends and should offer people a good non-CDLC required option for African Bush War uniforms. There's some great mods already out there that covers the period but they tend to require GM, which not everybody's got. Initially my attention was on the Angolan War and Cuban Grey Lizard camo, but it expanded to just anything I thought looked neat and could find camo to work with. Hence some Belgian camos that were supposed to be in use in the Congo, French Lizard that you can find anywhere and so on.

The accuracy is verisimilitude rather than precise. I tried to balance a matter of "looks like real life pictures/recreations I see", "has proper blood overlay", "Works with the webbing I want to use". There are certain stuff that doesn't exist ingame that I couldn't get, like the bigeard hats. And rather than bring in more compatibility requirements I wanted this to just require S&S, nothing else. So there's some field caps and boonies in various camos, but not all of them.

Search for 'sns' in the advanced arsenal. They should all have the [BL] (Bush lizard) prefix in the name. In the code they use SNS, though naturally this is a fan project and not official Service and Supply work.

Feel free to report if any bugs present themselves. Some may not be fixable by me (like blood decals not covering all of the body - there should be blood decals however. I made sure to only choose S&S models that had it set up but I may have broken something somewhere), but if I can fix them I will give it a go.

==========================================================================================

Content of Mod:
1) Cuban Grey Lizard, roughly three different patterns/shades of it.

2) Various guerilla/rebel movement associated gear, being mixes of camo/no camo often of the Eastern block (German raindrop, Czech Sumpf, ect.)

3) Some French Lizard camo

4) SADF Nutria and 32 Batallion Camo

5) Rhodesian Camo

6) Belgian Camos

7) Portuguese Camos, although as this one was difficult while I sampled patterns from Portuguese gear they might just work as generalized lizard/brushstroke vertical patterns you found all across Africa.

8) Some other stuff like Tanzanian DPM.

9) Belgian smocks - the glitch of a little box being off-camo on the breast is not something I Know how to fix. Webbing with yoke/straps will cover it.

10) 2 VDV sleeveless. Real jerry rigged since it's on a US S&S Model but I work with what is on hand!

11) British Denison Smocks

12) Frogskin or Duck Hunter Camos.

13) ERDL Lowland, Highland, M81

14) More Frog.

15) More Takistani-y lizard

==========================================================================================

Future Tasks: Won't do requests. May do some soviet gear later but that'll probably require different mods for hiddenselection retextures so it'll be a separate project.

==========================================================================================
Issues:
-Black smudge in crotch area of certain outfits. I dunno what's causing it.

-Belgian smock in the jungle shot is darker than where it was when I saved that. But that's intentional, was too bright for me there.

-I'll try and not change the ID names of uniforms, but I might end up doing so, so my bad it if borks your mission/equipment setups.

-Signed it but I haven't been able to test it in multiplayer. I did light testing of just putting it on, shooting enemies with it and seeing the blood overlays worked. I will freely admit my coding is SUPER messy and I haven't really messed with this or my other mods in multiplayer or extensively yet. So let me know if any bugs happen. I am not sure if I'll be able to fix them but I can try.

==========================================================================================

Credits: I honestly did very little, S&S' PSDs made this infinitely easier. So ultimately credit them for all their hard work, this was just some quick texture shenanigans with patterns I found about.

-Service and Supply deserve all the credit for the original models and even sharing the PSDs that made this possible. Their work is phenomenal and we are lucky to have them.

-The Reddit camo discord and the old facepunch camo library. Some of the camos were of unknown origin given how long ago the facepunch camo library must have been started, but the ones with clear authors and clear permission granted are credited to Dan Marsden II (A rhodesian brushstroke pattern). Unknown author included Portuguese-ish lizard camo, Greek lizard camo, KLMK pattern, Czech Sumpf and others. Possibly Greenstack for a Portuguese camo? I am not sure I used it.

-Reddit Camo Discord/facepunch camo library's Denison smock pattern (Tounushi is cited author)
-Same source for duck hunter/frogskin. One unsourced ("vidya Heroes and Generals US Frogskin") from the reddit camo discord/facepunch collection, one that is from the facepunch camo library without any clear author ("American WWII")

-Kommandopost the website for various Cuban Grey Lizard camo, Portuguese Lizard camo, Belgian Brushstroke, 32 Batallion and others.

-FIngolfin's NVA DDR Blumetarn camo & Takistani camo.

I do not think I missed anyone, but please let me know if I did and I will rectify that issue. As long as you credit and respect the rights of S&S and the relevant people here, you can do whatever with it.

March 17 2025: The update is the same credits as before

Hi @Meloncat firstly great mod, secondly do you know anyone who can make French Coldwar Paratrooper Berets from the Indochina/Vietnam french conflict????

Excellent work. Love how the trousers and shirts are different shades in each camo. This works great when making a config faction as looks like some of the guys are veterans with faded BDUs and other are green recruits! The Duck Hunter stuff is great for a South Korean Marine (Vietnam era) I'm making.

Would you consider retexturing the rain parkas from S&S so we can have Duck Hunter trousers on the bottom half?

Great that you're updating this, I use it a lot in Africa Ablaze. An addition I would love to see personally, is a longsleeve version to go along with the shortsleeve Khaki BDU you have now (thats been very useful), or that plus khaki pants/white tee.

Looks good but the ERDL and M81 jackets/pants are darker than the headgear.

I love this mod! I made a faction of Congo mercenaries using quite a few of your uniforms (faction config only, full credit to yourself and S & S credit for models and textures)

Love the mod, any chance of more camos? Possibly Egyptian sand camo or leopard spot camo?

Hi! Awesome mod, would you consider adding the Chicom vests as NVG items, that way we can have a chestig, Vest and backpack.
