This mod is so close to being perfectly balanced, and looks amazing. Takes a bit of creativity to paint them, but I've got my hauler's rings lit-up and shaded to perfection ;)
I increased the cost, speed factor, health, density and storage capacity (by a lot), added an airlock, and made them tall structures. They still don't have roof access, which is the primordial balance aspect. Also, added a Spanish translation.
Resource stacks in these storage rings should store 4 times more than a normal storage room. That would make the 13x4 Ring 33% more efficient in space than using normal storage rooms, and the 25x8 ring 48% more efficient. This extra efficiency is not free as you are losing a lot of speed by being unable to access them externally like in a normal storage room.
Also, for both game balance and realism, I suggest making these storage rings be considered tall structures. Tall structures mean that if you place behind them a Deck Cannon or Mining Laser they won't be able to shoot over it. This would explain why they can store more resources in the same space, as the length and width are the same, but the height isn't.
Hi, I think that this mod should store more resources per stack.
Storage Ring 13x4
It has an area of 15x4=60 tiles. This includes both areas, the blue one and the yellow one as you can't place objects on either of both. However, the storage area is only 10x2=20 tiles. That means that having normal storage rooms in that area would store 3 times more resources, with the addition of allowing external pick up and delivery without the need for airlocks.
Storage Ring 25x8
It has an area of 27x8=216 tiles and the storage area is 20x4=80 tiles. Normal storage rooms store 2.7 times more resources and also allow external delivery.
