1.9.7 More Unique Companies

Kuvaus
Overview:
Updated for 1.9.7
Information regarding Companies:
Embark on a journey where the tapestry of corporate intrigue unfolds, granting most nations access to a diverse selection of companies from the outset.

There are currently 600+ unique companies available to which the grand majority of countries have access to at the start of the game. Some are locked behind conditions like the Meiji Restoration.

Each company has specific building types based on historical data. Their prosperity bonus is based on a score we calculated for balancing purposes from this information, and you can see how it's done in this spreadsheet. [docs.google.com]

Certain nations might not initially feature access to distinctive companies due to a lack of comprehensive information about these entities. If you wish for specific companies to be incorporated into the mod, kindly express your desires by submitting them here: make a wish! [docs.google.com]. Your input will contribute to enriching the game experience for every Nation!

Information regarding Banks:
Banks have been crucial for economic growth and stability in the Real World. Currently Banks are underrepresented in Victoria 3. This is why we decided to make Banks more important. Historically, institutions like the 19th-century European banks have driven industrial expansion and trade. Reflecting this, we decided that each country in game can only maintain one bank at a time, making it a central pillar of the nation's financial system and economic policy.

A game rule has been added to disable banks for the player and AI. Banks are enabled by default.

Journal Entry Companies:
Some companies stand out from the rest for various reasons. They may have been formed through major mergers, established by states in response to global events, or expanded rapidly due to unique domestic economic conditions. These distinctive companies now feature their own formation and upgrade Journal Entries! You can see which companies have Journal Entries associated with them here.

Translation and Compatibility:
The mod only supports English and German. If anybody wishes to do translations, they will be listed here:

We have added mod compatibility with:

Useful information:
Vanilla and DLC companies might have been modified by this mod, but the DLC companies are only visible/usable if the corresponding DLC is owned.

If you want to know about already implemented companies, you can check it out here [docs.google.com]

Nice mod, my dudes! Insane how fast you update it to new patches. It really adds a lot of gameplay variety and replayability for me, especially now companies are actually usefull and fun. Can't really play the game without this anymore. All I want to say is, keep up the good work!

@Tecuatl This is an Issue with the balancing of the base game. I also thought that it was kind of silly. We looked into lowering the prestige certain prestige goods grant, but the currently implemented values are already the minimum values. We can only increase them.

I have noticed this makes unifying Italy as Two Sicilies way harder because Sardinia-Piedmont goes straight for the prestige Mediterranean Wine which gives them +72 prestige along with +15% prestige from the company bonus, which is enough to rocket them into a Major Power all on its own, very early in the game. I don't know if this one wine export should give as much as prestige as a huge fleet of battleships!

@Macgyver You only need Dynamite and 5 sulfur levels in the state of Victoria. Other than that the company must only be able to buy 5 total buildings to be established. Only thing I can think of is that you either didn't have dynamite or didn't have enough non-company owned buildings.

@Macgyver could you tell us what doesn't work?

@W4RPER Thank you for the detailed response and for pinning the Journal entry companies!

@kingdomadvanced I've made sure to name the JE companies in our patch notes. Current JE companies are US Steel (US), Imperial Chemical Industries (UK), IG Farben & Deutsche Reichsbahn (Germany) and the 4 Zaibatsus (Japan).

Slotting in any one of the historical companies included in the merger that led to the JE companies will show you the JE under Potential Journal Entries. If the conditions there are met, the journal entry will activate and complete after after a few years of the related companies being prosperous.

Love your mod! I'd be really interested to know what the formable companies are and which companies you need to activate the JE, especially for Germany. Thank you very much!
