SHG - Just the Psionist

Description
This mod has all of the psionist stuff from Superhero Genes Base without all the other stuff. Due to the amount of extra code involved, this will require the EBSG Framework, but other than taking the code from a different source it should work exactly the same as the SHG variant.

The Psionist gene itself is in the Archite section, and requires you enable seeing those at the bottom of the Create Xenotype menu.

This one provides more early power, but doesn't allow pawns to grow much throughout the game unless you have a method for adding additional genes to the pawn. It also uses entropy a lot more than it uses psyfocus, so Psionists don't need to meditate as much as VPE Psychics.

If you're looking for something that fits in well with the rest of vanilla, VPE is still the better choice. If you're just interested in the abilities themselves and prefer less management on your part, this probably comes out on top there.

Thanks for the answer. I was more wondering about a comparison between rather than using them in combination, since I don't really care that much for VPE and like to suss out potential alternatives.

It varies, but the general results are that pawns become ridiculously strong when combined with that mod due to how many of their abilities scale with psychic sensitivity. Most things should work without issue, the only ones I recommend being cautious of are channeling abilities that stop the caster from moving for the duration as I have had people report that their pawns would just keep using the ability even if the pawn's needs were running out.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how these stack up against Vanilla Psycasts Expanded?

The Psionist Gene itself gives the pawn an innate psylink and greatly enhances various stats related to psychic pawns. It also gives access to the various paths which contain a variety of stat changes and abilities in each gene. There is no limit on the number of paths a psionist can take other than the metabolic efficiency cost.

Let me know if you encounter any weird issues. This should be safe to add mid-game, but if anyone is planning on replacing SHG base with this then you will need to start a new game.
