Vanilla Recycling Expanded is our spin on recycling in RimWorld. No longer you will be left with hundreds of wastepacks that you will try to send away into distant parts of the world to forget about them. No longer you will have to try and cheese the game to get rid of pollution. Vanilla Recycling Expanded actually gives wastepacks a purpose, and will let you convert them into a variety of useful new resources!

Players will be able to create improved pumps to drain even more pollution, as well as construct special recycling stations that will turn wastepacks into precious resources whilst also generating a whole new type of wastepack that’s significantly more volatile. Players may also turn standard wastepacks into a different type of wastepacks that can be stored outside.

If you have any suggestions, make sure to leave them in the comments!

The content of this mod can be seen below.

A: Can I add it mid-playthrough to an existing save?
A: Yes, definitely.

Q: Does this work with Combat Extended?
A: No idea. Perhaps?

Q: I can’t find any recycling stuff in my game?
A: Ensure you have research the Basic recycling and Complex recycling research projects.

Q: Does this mod let us recycle apparel or weapons?
A: No, this mod simply lets you recycle wastepacks.

Q: This mod is imbalanced.
A: We accept all feedback. It’s very difficult to balance a mod that lets you produce something valuable from something considered to be ‘waste’. Big factor in that process is the large amount of work required. We have done the napkin math, but there is only so far you can take it. If you have some findings and you’d like to help us balance the numbers, leave a comment down below.

@Good Charles Man I just selected 1.5 old version on the betas and kept playing normally until I'm good with the mods I have or they update. You can choose happiness and just refuse the update lol

What are you guys' choices for recycling/mending apparel now that Odyssey is out? I couldn't find a good mod :(

@GlaiveWurm That is both horrifying and efficient. I approve!! I've mostly used them in defence building and spike traps....the occasional beehouse or replacement trash compactor on the front lines for double gas XD

Comment section on Steam is useless. We have a bug tracker system for a reason

Between the brain damaged posters like "Lolerd^^" and the seemingly large number of trolls... Trying to figure out status/issues with this mod in comment section is horrid.

You're all fools and incompetents: you turn trashbrick into CONCK CREETE BAYBEE and then you PAVE OVER THE ENTIRE MAP /s

Jokes aside, wastepacks into chemfuel+biopacks+trashbricks into concrete (via AOBA's Fortifications - Industrial mod) is legitimately fantastic.

That's why he's Salt Bae and you are NO ONE

I've been just turning them into trashbales and storing it it a very far place in the colony for now, it will take a lot before filling up, and when it do, I'll be probably dumping it with vehicles from VVE lol

For those looking for trashbrick removal, my personal method is to craft them into salt via VFE cooking using stone blocks and ticking trashbricks
