Description
It's been a long time coming (this was the second of my crafting mods that I started working on), but it's finally here! The Dragon Forge - Item Crafting For Grand Cathay!



like the other mods in my own and Mr.Soul's series of mods, this adds mortuary cult style item crafting to another race/culture, this time for Grand Cathay.
Unlike the other mods, it adds two brand new pooled resources that are used to craft the items within it. Dragonsteel and Dragonjade . Dragonsteel is required to craft weapons and armour, while Dragonjade is required to craft arcane items and talismans. Both are needed to craft enchanted items as well as the banners and followers.




These Icons, along with the title panel and the thumbnail were made by the brilliant Driblex, and I cannot thank him enough, please check out his work!

(currently) the resources are gained from the economy building chains, each tier granting 10 more than the previous tier, for a total of 30 at tier 3. Iron resource chains grant additional dragonsteel, and gems resource chains grant aditional dragonjade


Miao Ying has a factionwide bonus to Dragonsteel production, due to her proficiency with and experience running the great forges of Nan Gau.
Zhao Ming has a factionwide bonus to Dragonjade production, due to his proficiency with alchemy.

Yuan Bo gains a small factionwide production bonus from each commercial district, the bonus depending on which of the economy buildings is present, and what building tier it has. The total bonus will always be lower than that of his siblings.

To do:
  • Create new unique/'purple' one time crafted items with set bonuses and themed effects.
  • Create new basic items to make sure each rarity and type of item has at least 4 entries.
  • Ongoing balance of the resource costs and gains, potentially adding or removing ways the jade and steel can be acquired.

(also the dark elf and high elf ones aren't mine)

Crashes the game in version 6.10. Worked OK before that. Imperial doesn't work either. However, druchii and asur both still work.

try running it with only mine. when i checked a few weeks ago mr soul's forge mods still had the file that causes the crash.

I'm having ctd on all forge mods. I click the craft and crashes on yours and Mr.Soul's.. I have two ancillary mods; fusable banners and legendary lord / hero artefacts would that be a conflict problem? Is it because of items pool or something?

and about the "all in one" mod as well, I would only do one of those after i felt they were all complete? which would mean 4 items of each rarity and each type (ie 4 white, green and blue items for weapons, and talismans, etc) along with at least one purple crafted set. for all the factions I would make one for. which might of course, take a while :p

eventually, between mr soul and I, we'd like to have one of these for every faction (except dwarfs and tomb kings of course). But I've not spoken to him in a while and I myself don't have much time or motivation for total war modding at the moment.

so yes, but probably not soon? sorry

stuff I learned when making the empire one (and used in the cathay one) makes a kislev one a lot more likely though
