Description

The Retinue Mod adds several new Leader skills that auto spawn free low tier units at the start of every battle, the mod's goal is to somehow increasing the overall amount of units per battle and "break" the 6 unit stack limit.

Initially it used as a test for my "I like BIG Battles" series of mods, but it turned to be pretty fun to play with, so i decided to post it here as well.

It is possible to also include these skills on every hero, but the battles were getting pretty crazy with that many units, so the mod was toned down to only work on the Faction Leader.

All that said, this version of the mod is focused on role-play, these skills will change your game pretty drastically, so please use your judgment on how you want to play with them, also, if you like the concept and want to include it in a better way to the current game, feel free to take over the idea and make your own version.

Additional Notes

• Sometimes these units will die during spawn if there is not enough free terrain nearby.

• The skill cost 0 points to force the AI to pick it as soon as possible, this also means that the AI will be more competitive and clear better from turn 0, use your own judgment for when to pick them as well.

• This mod is made full compatible with my other mod, "Culture Unit Makeover Thematic Add-on", meaning, these free units will use the Faction Outfits picked in there. Mod linked in here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3076927649

This mod is a proof of concept to try and "break" the hard-coded 6 stack limits using non-standard ways to get free units during battle.

Part of the "I like BIG Battles" series, with "Mercenary Mod" and "Levies Mod".

My battle keeps having a stroke every time these guys spawn in, is it not up to date?

I'm still confused about what "Retinue of the Godir" actually does? It just seems to be random units from any and all cultures. Would it not make more sense for it to be of the leader's culture?

What files does this mod edits? Because it's causing an immediate crash in my campaign.

Retinue has been fixed to work on the new Hero Update.

To fix some ugly UI issues, you now need to choose between Magical/Cultural Line before picking the Retinue, functionality remains the same.

However, the AI now can only pick the new "Retinue of the Godir", otherwise the mod would not work properly, this retinue will randomize 3 cultural units to spawn, the player may pick it as well if they wish.

Remove some Retinue choices that were not working anymore.

ok,mod no longer works for human players but still AI somehow ends up being able to use. Good to buff AI but i would like my sun priests back lol.plz update.
