Description
Aegir Personal Exploration Hybrid Submarine
Overview
This project seeks to bring style and comfort to underwater exploration. AEGIR is powered by a diesel engine mounted externally along with an electric system that pairs with a hydro jet. This setup offers extended ranges and improved control. The submarine is built with creature comforts in mind, meaning there is plenty of space for viewing, sleeping and lounging on this small sub. The ship has 3 beds on it with a recommended use for 1-6 people. Aegir is on the smaller side making cave exploration and dry docking/land transportation easier. There is also deck space that can be used when surfacing. Again this is designed for exploration, leisure, so a lot of this is about being able to explore the world at any depth.

The Design
The ship is designed to be simple to operate and can be easily used with a crew of 1 or up to 3. More passengers can stay aboard as well. Operating the sub is very easy. The sub will spawn with the power on ready to go. Auto pilot works as per usual, enter a x,y, and turn on. Depth hold works the same way (put a negative number in). The hud has 5 camera angles that can be cycled through. The ballast switches are found above the head to the right of the captain, a yellow indicator light will turn on when ballast is close to correct. The sub will automatically level itself and you do not need to worry about self righting. Do not be afraid to park this thing on the floor and get out. It is designed to do so.

Startup
  1. Press throttle forward
  2. Turn on insturment key
  3. The sub starts in electric mode
  4. The flip switch to the right of the captain's seat labeled "Turn on engine" will switch to diesel mode.

  5. Auto Pilot and Depth are entered on a keypad (put a negative number in for depth)
  6. Two flip switches can be found in front of the hud to turn on depth hold and auto pilot

very cool sub, i used this to go to 1km under the ocean's surface, at least the interior made it less spooky

Is the emergency power automatic or is there a hidden switch?

Constantly grounded at optimal ballast. Any fixes?

I could look into it for sure, I know it is a commonly requested feature, no promises but I’ll check it out!

Is there any possibility that we could get the propellors for going up and down to work manually for e.g. lifting the boat from the seafloor? But good Creation!

Well that makes enough sense… I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me on my own XD

It puts a warning in the cockpit to not move the sub
