Description
**Updated:AK-630 CIWS system added(might not shown in some pictures above), the torpedo tubes now launch only towards to both sides to avoid hitting them.

Adds a refitted Kashin Class Destroyer that equipped with 2 SA-N-7 Systems and 6 units of 8-cell SA-N-9 Systems, with proper FC radar added. Making her at least good at air defence rather than completely useless like the original ones.

*This mod will not replace the original Kashin Class ships. You can find these new ships in the encyclopedia and use them in Mission Editor or use them to make scenarios and upload, it's up to you.

Is she overpowered? Well, she's quite good at dealing with RGM84 waves but after the 3K95 runs out of ammo it's gameover anyway.

In the early 80s, faced with the inadequacy of existing air defense systems to counter NATO's saturation subsonic sea-skimming anti-ship missile attacks, the Soviet Navy decided to retrofit its existing ships using the air defense subsystems of the Sovremenny and Udaloy class destroyers. As the M-22 (SA-N-7) system was previously tested aboard the Project 61 destroyer Provornyy and the combat performance of the Project 61 destroyers was already considered outdated, 12 units were selected for modernization and upgraded to Project 61A destroyers, reclassified as Fleet Destroyers (EM).

During the upgrades, the original M-1 (SA-N-1) system and its associated PeelGroup fire control radar were removed. In their place, two M-22 missile systems were installed, along with four Front Dome illuminator radars. The aft 76mm gun and its fire control radar were also replaced with four eight-cell 3K95 Kinzhal close-range anti-air missile systems.

The lead ship of the 61A-class, EM-563 Steregushchiy, completed its refit in late 1983. Compared to the original Project 61 destroyers, the Project 61A exhibited significantly enhanced air defense capabilities, including improved resilience against saturation attacks through the integration of the 3K95 system. However, their limited anti-ship and anti-submarine capabilities meant they were primarily employed to provide air defense cover for the fleet or bolster escort formations, with few instances of independent operation.

A test scenario is included

@axisslyr maybe, but maybe after the game become less buggy and unstable though
axiss_5.45x39mm 28 Dec, 2024 @ 3:53pm
willl you incorporate more ships into the refit program?
Deconvolution  [author] 12 Dec, 2024 @ 12:04am
@blayas Thank you, and for many of the vessels you mentioned, I think they might be brought to the game as soon as the model import is supported as they are already in the game 'Cold Waters'

Very Nice mods! even if fictional they are organic I would say, and fit into whatif scenarios with the Orel,

do you plan to bring new units when import is supported?
Would really appreciate the Kalinin, Akula, Sierra I/II and Oscar II for the current period.

And the new frigates/corvettes, Pyotr, Yasen, improved kilo and perhaps the recently refitted Nakhimov (kalinin) for modern scenarios :)

Fixed bugs causing the front 3R95 idle
Changed the DC team number to 2
You can force the update by resubbing it if it wasnt done automatically

@KirbyMirror2 The M-1M Volna is directed by the giant peelgroup radars that have been replaced by 3R95 radars for SAN9 and what you're talking about is the MR-105 Gun director radar for the front AK726
KirbyMirror2 6 Dec, 2024 @ 10:33am
The fire control radar for the original M-1M Volna launcher on front is still present in this model. One of the Uragan (SA-N-7) illuminators is sitting atop on it.

@pukpa If you mean fictional, yes

I understand that Pr.61A is an unmodified plan, is that correct?
