Empire Steam Suits

Description
𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑵𝒖𝒍𝒏 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒏. 𝑾𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒔 𝒐𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔, 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆. 𝑶𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔, 𝑫𝒆𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔.

The armory grows ever larger, ever stronger. The new Empire will rise in time, plate by plate, barrel by barrel, engine by engine. A legion of shot, steam, and steel will buckle every obstacle and take every victory.

For now, this mod adds a new unit with three variants to the Empire's roster, the Steam Suit!

===========================================================================

𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑺𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒔 (𝑺𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅)

"The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" as they say. But put a driver in a powered suit of steel, and suddenly his resolve is not so quick to falter. While mechanically impressive and bearing devastating strength, the suit is still steel and the driver is still a man. Slow and intimidating, the suits were designed to keep enemy combatants off of ranks of rifle infantry should they reach or breach the line. Consequently they make excellent guards for artillery, and excel in sieges as well with their brutal but relatively nimble blades.

𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑺𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒔 (𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝑾𝒆𝒂𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔)

Oversized as they are, Steam Suit swords are not enough against larger, more dangerous foes. Logic only dictates that the answer is a larger weapon, and what offensive implement could be better scaled up to size than a versatile poleaxe? Long as a halberd and twice as strong, this devastating polearm has it's deadly qualities further enhanced in the hands of a driver with hydraulic limbs. While lacking a shield, a necessary piece of equipment to help protect against the more fragile parts of the suit, the trade off in offensive capability against large and armored enemies more than makes up for it.

𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑺𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒔 (𝑽𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒚 𝑮𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒔)

The Mechanical hands of the steam suit put fine motor skills out of the question, a very necessary quality in loading a firearm. With some necessity seen in giving steam suits ranged capabilities however, the brilliant engineers of Nuln have come up with a mechanical marvel, the Volley Gauntlet. Three barrels and twelve shots of heavy bullets, one volley of which being enough to send a whole mob of advancing enemies scattering, those that are still able to walk, see, or hear afterwards in any case. Reloaded by a bulky crank, these devastating, if fragile, contraptions make up for the hindrance the added weight adds to the driver's sword arm.

===========================================================================

These units are all recruited from the Tier 4 war machines building, the Engineer's Guildhall, and have roughly the same recruitment and upkeep costs as Steam Tanks, so mind your coffers! They all benefit from lord perks and research, and the Volley Gauntlet variant benefits from Nuln Gunnery School buffs as well.

SUBMODS:- I intend to only make submods myself for other Empire mods that I personally use that need it. 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑵𝑶𝑻 𝒃𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒎𝒐𝒅𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝑭𝑶/𝑹𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔/𝑮𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒔 𝑰 𝒅𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆, 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒅𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒂𝒔𝒌 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐 𝒔𝒐. Please feel absolutely free to do that yourselves though!

As you can probably see, I'm not messing around here, I've got lots of ideas, some that are even cooler than this. I will keep going, I will keep making unit mods for the faction I have in mind, adding to each unit pack as I go as well as releasing others. Tangible encouragement goes a long way however, so if you want to support me in the creation of bigger and better mods, consider visiting my Ko-Fi and leaving a donation!

I updated the mod and it's currently stuck in auto content checker limbo. I sent out a support ticket, hopefully it gets resolved soon.

This is a really cool mod, though I think they should benefit from the 'War Machines' part of the research tree. It's already in the name, honestly :)

First of all, thank you so much for your amazing mod. I’ve really enjoyed playing with it, and I can tell a lot of passion and effort went into it!

I was wondering if you might consider adding a steam-powered visual effect or aesthetic overlay to the Steam Suits—similar to the overhaul-style suits you’ve designed. I think it would really help unify the designs and reinforce the idea that these are truly steam-driven machines.

Thanks again for all your hard work—I really appreciate it!
