Description
This mod adds the PLAN Type 055 Renhai-class destroyer (NATO: Renhai-class) serving in the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN).

The Type 055 is a large, multirole warship designed for area air defense and anti-submarine warfare, with a displacement of 12,000 tons. It incorporates stealth features and advanced sensors, including a dual-band AESA radar system with S- and X-band panels. Its armament includes 112 vertical launching system (VLS) cells for various missiles (80 HQ-9B SAM, 16x YJ-18 SSM, and 16x CJ-10 LAM in this mod), a 130-mm main gun, and other weapons. The Type 055 serves as the primary escort for Chinese carrier battle groups.

2025-02-01: Fixed VLS bug. Changed gun system to H/PJ-38. Changed to YJ-18 from YJ-12.
2025-02-21: Updated weapons for latest patch changing how ECCM functions in-game.
2025-02-22: Removed quad-packed HQ-16. Fixed bug with X-band FCR. Increased HQ-10 launcher to 24 missiles from 21.
2025-03-26: Improved shaping of the bow and other cosmetic changes.
2025-05-28: Added CJ-10 ini. Updated HQ-10 and Type 1130 models.
2025-05-30: Added animated VLS hatches on 054A ("VLS 2.0").

Thanks for prompt response @ManeuverWarfare. I think what we're experiencing is a lot of other mods (at least ones I use for Chinese ships) made their versions of SAMs ARH when they're semi-active IRL. So HQ-16s would be always intercepting any sort of target at ridiculous range meanwhile HQ-9Bs had restricted range against target.(and another guys HQ-9s were ARH in game) I also had a weird thing where I tested US SM system since they're renown for being semi-active - base game systems worked fine - some mod authors had them as semi-active or 'none' for guidnance and sometimes it worked as game dynamics said it should and sometimes it had max range always. YMMV. Just leaving this here for anyone else confused as a few of us were

Hey @Stinger it has to do with how the game models the curvature of the earth. For SARH missiles, range changes with target altitude since missiles have to be guided by a fire control radar limited by the curvature. With ARH, it does not have this limitation.

Yeah at 10,000 ft F-14 target it seems to have normal range, lower it shrinks and if it’s 100 it’s such a small engagement radius. At 3000 it’s a little bigger but still small so prob explains why I got different distances per altitude. This is kinda problematic tho not a big fan

Did a test in editor looks like targets at a certain low altitude get reduced range like F-14s at 50m shrinks to 70ish nmi from the max 135. The guy who did the mod with Constellation Red Arsenal or smth has his own HQ-9 but doesn’t have this glitch. His missile also has ARH and its flight profile sends it up very high and then descends on targets

@Heart @ManeuverWarfare I have same problem. It looks to me that HQ9B when actually targeting air assets shrinks range to like 20 nmi. No idea why. It does this against all missiles like sea skimming harpoons, tomahawks, I even tested it by targeting some friendly planes and it had the low range. I feel like the biggest mod overwriting weapon behavior would be NTU. Don’t have PELT installed.

Yes, the missile is the AGM-84D launched from the F/A-18. When intercepted by the HQ-9B system on the Type 055 destroyer in your mod, the missile’s range is significantly reduced. This is a unique effect not seen in other mods.

Why has the HQ-9B's maximum engagement range decreased from 135 nautical miles to under 45 nautical miles?Is that reasonable or just a bug?
