Lights++

Description
Expands Lights with more features!
Twice the light strength, a light range setting, a default state setting, and the ability to paint the light and it's bulb separately!

Important!
  • This mod offers you the option of having the modded lights override the vanilla lights, making it so your builds have the extra features by default, and the option of having the modded lights as their own, separate parts, meaning that they will not apply to your past builds.
  • By default, the modded lights are unique, and do not override vanilla lights.
  • This setting can be toggled in-game, using the /toggleLightsOverride chat command. You will need to re-enter the world for the change to take effect.
  • The drawback of the override option is that, due to how Scrap Mechanic handles overriden parts, lights already placed in the world will be broken. They can be fixed by simply picking them up and putting them back down, but in warehouses for example, you wont be able to do that(since they are build protected).

  • If you and the person you're joining in multiplayer don't have the same override setting, funky things will start happening. You will see a warning in the chat when this happens.
  • If an override mismatch does occur, just type /toggleLightsOverride in the chat, and re-join the game. After that, there should be no mismatch.
  • (Yes, I know, this is kinda annoying, but the game doesn't allow you to refresh a client's part collection on the fly)

Features
  • Applies to all lights:
    • An extra 15 strength settings, going from a maximum of 10 to 25. This allows you to make much brighter lights
    • Setting whether the light should be on or off by default
    • The ability to paint the light and its emitted light colour separately
    • Connecting a Color Block from The Modpack will set the light's bulb colour
  • Only applies to some lights:
    • A maximum range setting, allowing you to make lights that reach really far away

Have fun!

gui might have died? pressing use on any of the lights does nothing, and none of them respond to logic.

Whats the issue?

I dont think the mod works anymore. At least for me.

Does anyone know if there is a way to have lights render farther away or is it a baked in setting like the strength of bearings? I have a giant base in survival and a strong pc, but whenever I step back to take in my base, only half of the lights actually render due to it being so a large distance.

I looked through the .json file for lights but couldn't figure out which number changed that if you even can at all.
Yes I know this will cause more lag but like I said, I have a pretty good pc and can always change it back.

I understand, I just thought it would be a good idea to add something like this :)

That would be a bit more tricky to do, but it is definitely possible. I'm not sure I'll be making it though.

The mod is cool, I really liked it. But it would be cool if you also added the ability to change the color of the logical gates (the display color separately from the frame). It would be quite good to diversify the creation of all sorts of computers and also not make your eyes dazzle when you try to understand what is responsible for what.
