I find the purely visual recoil distracting because it only adds a cosmetic kickup that throws off aiming because the point the player shoots doesn't change, but the crosshair is kicked up, too, leading to confusion in directing your fire.
I probably have asked this (many times) before, but will this MP5 (and the future player-usable MP5s) going to have their worldmodels turned up? The reason why it was at a slightly downward angle in Black Mesa was to accomodate the Human gun-using animations (particularly those of the HECU) which needed such a compensation to look good.
