For Long War 2 compatibility, be sure to install RealityMachina's Unofficial Battle Rifle Expansion mod.

The Battle Rifle Pack adds a series of kitbashed rifles in two categories. Each is tuned to provide maximum hit chance at a range in between that of Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle, with accuracy rapidly falling off in either direction.

Battle Rifles can be equipped by any class capable of equipping the Assault Rifle and add +1 damage at a penalty of -1 mobility. These bonuses and penalties are ini-tunable.

Marksman Rifles can be equipped by any class capable of equipping the Sniper Rifle, require only one action to fire, and add +1 mobility at a penalty of -1 damage and -15 aim. These bonuses and penalties are ini-tunable.

Each has full weapon mod support and should hopefully add a bit of variety to your XCOM 2 experience.

Conventional rifles will be in your inventory upon loading a saved game or starting a new game. Access the additional tiers by purchasing the "Intermediate Range Rifle" weapon schematic that appears when each tier's Assault Rifle becomes available for purchase. This behavior is ini-tunable.

The Battle Rifle Pack contains additional features for the following mods.

Laser Combat Rifle
Laser Sharpshooter

ETC Battle Rifle
ETC Marksman Rifle

Photon Rifle
Farstrobe

These weapons should now spawn in lockboxes.

This mod is heavily influenced by Timer's DMR mod in function and by Long War Studios' Laser Pack and SMG Pack in code.

The Battle Rifle Pack adds brand new templates and schematics, does not modify any existing items and does not override any classes, so it should not conflict any other mod.

-The kitbashing nature of the weapons is painfully obvious at times. The meshes don't always fit together 100% cleanly and components can appear on the weapon portrait in places that do not reflect the weapon model. However, this is only cosmetic.
-Since these kitbashes apply the Sniper Rifle scopes to the Assault Rifle base, sometimes weird clipping or strange placement can occur when weapon mods are applied. Again, this is only cosmetic.

-Expect to see a few kitbash meshes merge in from Skunkworks eventually.
-I would like to add support for more mods that players are using on a regular basis. Let me know what you'd like to see!

-Since this is first and foremost a kitbash mod for utility over form, I will probably not be adding any custom non-kitbash meshes for weapons.
