but its too gross
ummm...well...uuhhhh thats the point of halloween
it wouldnt look good with fashion frame is what i meant
I'm kidding. Thanks so much for the feedback :)
Basically my intentions are, given that the theme is Halloween, I was really wanting to go for something that would make people recoil a bit, something people might not want to touch, or that might make them jump if it showed up at their door. I used abstracted forms of things that I'm afraid of myself to get to that, and I'm happy with where I ended up with it.
Plus, I figure some people are like me, and want some skins that go some slightly different ways aesthetically. The game offers enormous variety in gameplay, weapons, etc but all of the Warframes use the same design language. That makes plenty of sense lore-wise and production-wise, but I think what they're doing with Tennogen is great from a creative perspective because it brings in ideas from outside of their work environment. I'm a big fan of the Graxx skins for instance because they go more towards the Grineer aesthetic than the Tenno one. The Halloween round is just an opportunity to create something a bit different without going completely wild.
That said, maybe I did go a bit too wild, or maybe not. It's right where I like it and I love it. If I had gone much farther with the "scary" theme it would have been silly and if I had gone much less I wouldn't have felt like it was Halloweeny enough for me, but the proverbial lines on that proverbial gradient are in different places for everyone. Many like it and many others really don't, and that's ENTIRELY OK - it's designed to be a bit repulsive, and some people just aren't going to like it for other reasons. Hopefully the people that do like it LOVE it.
Thanks again!
Hey mate! I know at first I was a bit sideways toward the design, and I still stand by the material critique and the helmet shape, but nonetheless I believe skins like this (especially for Oberon who only has one good skin) should be added to the game. I think skins like this would give players more diversity and make people stand out from the design we always see. Gold, black and some other colour. I give you my compliments about this design and truly hope it gets picked for the next round of tennogen. Good luck to you, you've done a great job on creating a skin that is entirely original!
it definitely worked and well now that you've explained why you've done this, i like it. gl on getting this into the next TennoGen, I may make this my first TennoGen skin, along with a Volt skin.
The thing I dislike most about Oberon is that the lines on this base skin make him look like he is a bit overweight and his silhouette is kind of boring.
I really like the shape of the helmet on this one, but I am not sure about the things on the sides being metal. It looks a bit like a toad or axolotl design.
Is just you, people, thouht that butterflies are beautiful and mole cricket are gross.
So quit your conventional wisdom and be more open minded and give author a try.
