Yeah, monsters are unchanged, so your character will technically be stronger from the getgo. I have offset this somehow by adding a Hardcore toggle in game that adds negatives to each class. For example, because of how fast and hardhitting Ninja is at a distance, Ninja has half health in Hardcore mode.
Otherwise, combining this with a difficulty mod may make the experience more enjoyable.
I might just get difficulty+ and its FU compatibility stuff (alternative armor scale) and this mod
