If Use My Class Doesnt Work For You....
If the mod doesnt work, please try the following:

1. Verify the mod appears in your mod list and is checked.

2. Verify your soldier is in your character pool, and is not designated as a Rookie.

3. Verify your soldier name is not duplicated in the character pool list. It is possible it is picking the wrong one.

4. Go to SteamApps\workshop\content\268500 and using your favorite text editor
do a file search for the following text ( you can limit to *.INI ) :

X2StrategyGameRulesetDataStructures

If you have a hit in any of your mod's XcomEngine.ini files, that looks something like

+ModClassOverrides=(BaseGameClass="X2StrategyGameRulesetDataStructures", ModClass="<ModName>.<ModName>_X2StrategyGameRulesetDataStructures")

then you have encountered a mod conflict. The two mods will probably not co-exist.

In that mod's root folder ( which should be a long number ), look for a file that ends
with .XcomMod. That should tell you which mod is causing the conflict.
Please add a note below indicating which mod is not compatible, since it will be useful
to future downloaders.

5. As a last resort, clean out your game's config folder and unsubscribe/resubscribe to the mod.
( My Documents\my games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config )

Are you using "All Soliders Gain XP" mod ?
Lou Tibus 31 Oct, 2018 @ 6:32am
nope

Not sure what else to suggest, other than uninstall/reinstall. You possibly have a mod conflict of some kind, where someone is overriding the after combat screen or changing some of the base game logic.

This mod hasn't been working for me, so I did the search in notepad++ and only got the following

+ModClassOverrides=(BaseGameClass="X2StrategyGameRulesetDataStructures", ModClass="WotcUseMyClass.UseMyClass_X2StrategyGameRulesetDataStructures")
+ModClassOverrides=(BaseGameClass="X2StrategyGameRulesetDataStructures", ModClass="WotcUseMyClass.UseMyClass_X2StrategyGameRulesetDataStructures")

I got this in this mod's folder. No other hits. Ideas?

Are you using "All Soldiers Gain XP" mod?

I tried all the manip an your mod dont work on my game :( I'm on mac OSX.

I found that another mod contains the file "X2StrategyGameRulesetDataStructures.uc" which is "EnemyHealthBuff".

That mod should modify enemies while yours should modify our soldiers... so why this conflict or that shared file?
Thunder 18 Jan, 2019 @ 11:05pm
Uninstalling that mod and reinstalling this one didn't solve the problem. Also it seems to appear randomly, some campaign yes, some campaign not. In the last 5 new campaign I started (after the last big update of Xcom2) it happened twice already

Your method of search via notepad++ instead says the culprit is "FullCharacterCustomizationFromStart" which contains the line:
[XComGame.X2StrategyGameRulesetDataStructures]
In the file XComGameData.ini

Also that mod is not necessary as it seems the expansion got rid of the customization restriction

Nothing, I tried restarting the campaign, unsubscribing from everything, resubscribing this one only and it still doesn't work, I begin to think it's really the latest free expansion that broke it.

did you clear your config folder?
Thunder 19 Jan, 2019 @ 2:55pm
I didn't want to in effect, but since I tried everything else I followed your "last resort" solution and it worked apparently and finally. I didn't change much in the inis manually, I guess something went corrupt there or a mod wasn't properly uninstalling.

I had to re-modify the inis and the mods settings (reinstall everything etc.) but at least now everything works again^^, thanks!

Excellent. Xcom doesnt do a very good of reconciling multiple INIs from various mods, and they do occassionally get corrupted.

I just found this mod, I love the concept, but none of the steps let it work for me. As far as I understand your original comments, there is a conflict - but I have no other mods installed (and never have); deleting the config and recreating following the general WOTC mod troubleshooting guide doesn't work, either.
