How You Can Get Complexity Out of Simple Skills
Here's another idea if you like complexity X-D - break up your bard skills and reduce their AP cost. This will put pressure on the player to really devote their attributes to Memory (makes sense) and give a very different play style - many skills with small effects that you cast a bunch of. This will allow skills to be understood simply, but applied with great depth. If you use low cost and cooldowns, make sure the ailments only last for a turn

I would also make Skald its own class, since there are already too many complex skills to keep track of. I would suggest making this one an opposite-but-equal-to class::have every skill require at least two memory stats and make their skills have high aoe, but with low impact with high durations. Use large Ap costs (3-4) so they can only use one skill at a time, but every turn they are making your full party a bit stronger (or their's weaker) for the rest of the fight. If you want them to have less skills you can make a few sets of random buffs/debuffs, or if you want to give them a lot of control you can. I really liked how you were using stats that didn't get much attention before hand, so this one would make sense if you scaled it off Retribution or Perserverance :-) (maybe the bard could use Perserverance since Loremaster is so hard to get point into)

Just some further ideas :-)

I do think less AP costs in general will help the bard feel more dynamic. Splitting Skald and Bard into two classes may be a bit much, though. Bard has a lot of different skills, with lots of choice of how you want to build your character. The other individual skill trees don't really have this option.
