Why not request to use textures from other modders/mods? There is ALLOT free release stuff for EaW out there and allot of really friendly modders that would be more then happy to lend a hand :)

Well, I wanted it to be all fresh and new, but I guess I could give it a shot. Thanks for the suggestion ! :-)

Totally understand, you want to make this mod your own, put unique touch to it. That said, and this comes from modding expereince, although not for EaW mind you, for expediancies sake I don't see the harm in using other peoples content, as long as you ask for permission first of course. Atleast that way you can focus on the development of the mods more time consuming features and get a product out there that we, your oh so adoring fans, can enjoy!

There are tons of really "fresh and new" models and textures out there I'm sure you already know of these mods, but they have ALLOT of content that would work perfectly and I'm fairly certain they're okay with sharing. Checkout if you haven't already:

They have ALLOT of free release high quality content, although allot of it is from the New Republic era, I'm fairly certain that allot of the ships from the EaW and FOC eras are there. The YVaAW team are really cool guys, mostly pretty friendly people. They have a really great discord server as well

Not to sure what Jeroenimo's position is on others using his work, but there are some great era specific stuff here. Can't hurt to ask I guess.

The AotR team much like the YVaAW a cool bunch of guys and their work is really top notch, this would also have to be my favourite mods so I'm a little biased haha. They also have a discord server you should look into as well.

There are plenty of other mods out there that you no doubt know of. Generally I've found that most of their teams are good people, bar one or two, but I won't name names haha. Again I totally understand, you want to make this mod your own, make it unique, stand out from other mods and that is really admirable!
