FAQs
Hello GMs.

I'm sure you have questions. Here's where I will *try* to answer them.

Q: The animations don't loop even if I put -1 for the duration.

A: The latest set of patches broke the looping animation method I use. I have not found a fix for this yet. *SOME* animations will loop, but not many.

Q: We can't launch a game with your mod installed. It stalls at 100% (or 0%)

A: There have been reports that my mods do not automatically download and synch for some reason. If you find this to be the case you should delete any copies you find in your mods directory and redownload the mod. This may even require unsubscribing and resubscribing and having your players do the same. If the players do not have the mod installed it will likely kick them out if the join with a message they are missing "required dependencies".

I'm very sorry about this. Larian is investigating why some Steam mods do not automatically download and synch between players and GM. Hopefully this will be resolved in the near future if it is affecting you.

It's not the mod itself. It's something to do with synching. Other mods seem to be affected as well :(

Q: Does everyone (GM and players) need to have the mod installed?

A: Yes. My understanding is all clients (the players PCs) and the host (the GM) must have the same mods installed if you want to use them. To avoid problems it's best if players subscribe to the mod before your game session. Sorry.

Q: Can you do custom animations?

A: Unfortunately not at this time. We just don't have a good set of tools and animating models is one of the most difficult tasks in 3D modeling.

Q: Can you use this mod with an existing campaign?

A: Maybe. In theory it should work absolutely fine, but to be honest I'm in the camp of better safe than sorry. Best to use it with a new campaign, but do let me know if you try it in your games.

Q: Will it work with other mods?

A: It should work with almost any other mod except those which alter status effects. It surely will not work with many of those (depending on which effects they change).

It will DEFINITELY work with my other GM Toolkit mods as they are designed to be modular, but support one another.

Q: Some of the characters are missing items when they animate (no pick axe, rake, broom, etc.) -OR- they do not animate (i.e. not everyone will play the lute)

A: This is how they were animated by Larian. Sadly I cannot change the default animations. You will just have to experiment with each character to see which ones have which animations and which look best to you.

Q: If a character moves they stop animating.

A: The animation system will only play one animation at a time. So if a character is possessed and walks or if another animation is placed on them they will stop their original animation even if the status is still in effect. You will need to reapply the EMOTE to them again to get them animating once more.

It's best practice to cancel the EMOTE status (by clicking on it's icon on the NPC or character) and then reapply it. This should get your character animating again ;)

Q: I found a bug!

A: Please post it in the comments and I'll do my very best to fix it.

Thank you :)
