the deluxe skins are something completely different while tennogen are usually reskins and alt helmets. for example: saryn deluxe = a Orchild
while the tennogen are just reskins with a few things +
No way are Deluxe skins worse or even better than Tennogen, both have a unique style. DE keeps it traditional, Tennogen pushes the limitations and the outcome can be really awesome (or really bad). But I don't think it's fair to say that the community does a better job, when it's DE that created this game that we all enjoy playing, AND they give the opportunity to the community so they can actually make SOMETHING for the game.
Without restrctions there would be an insane amount of bad quality content that would outnumber the great quality content. DE is smart, and they actually care about their game, so the restrictions are in place because they want only content that fits Warframe AND is of good quality.
The body restrictions make sense to me because not only does it challenge the Tennogen artists, but the frames wont lose their indentities, which can be very confusing if you have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of skins that morph body shapes and not knowing what frame someone is playing without asking or checking the Warframe Market and sifting through a bunch of Tennogen to find that one skin you saw someone using but couldnt figure out which frame it belonged to. I can easily tell a Saryn tennogen skin apart from a Nyx's tennogen skin because of the body shape etc.
the community goes, content would be regarded as feedback in a sense. But dang I'd like to see this in game.
Oh my, someone's just a tad excessively defensive of Warframe.
First of all, I have no idea why you took such offense to my post, but I'll just assume you read it as being far more hostile than it really was.
Secondly, It's not disrespectful to suggest that the community does a better job when you feel that they do. If you disagree with me, and feel DE does a better job at creating aesthetic items, then that's perfectly fine. What's not fine, is acting like it's wrong to have a different opinion. Implying I only play the game for Tennogen is also to imply I only play the game for aesthetics and nothing else - I only implied that the Tennogen creators are better at making aesthetics, not better at making a game.
Your argument in this second paragraph doesn't really make any sense. Are you trying to say that because this is DE's game, that it's automatically impossible for someone else to be better than them at producing something within the game? That is completely illogical. You're right that deluxe skins aren't objectively better or worse than the Tennogen stuff, but it's my subjective opinion that Tennogen is better - which is what I was suggesting.
Okay, but they already let people make their own helmets if they want to, not to mention their own weapon models. It's not like bodies are some magical artistic realm beyond helmets and weapons that requires some mythical talent that only DE has managed to tap into. The restrictions are just limiting what the Tennogen creators can branch out into. Personally, I think it'd give us a lot of interesting variety. Sure, there'll be some bad submissions - just like there's the occasional bad submission now. That's kind of the point behind a system like this, where DE selects that's good and tells people what to change on what they don't accept.
It really doesn't challenge them at all. There's already some approved Tennogen helmets that don't really match with the body of the frame (at least in my opinion), so perfectly matching the body isn't exactly necessary, and honestly, are you implying that coming up with a unique body design that still suits the theme of the frame and that DE would accept isn't something challenging? I understand the concept of limitation drawing out creativity, but this isn't an example of that. It's just a limitation.
Furthermore, the official deluxe skins already drastically change how a frame can look. Plenty of people didn't know I was playing as Nyx because I use the Athena helmet + Nemesis skin. So, it's not really stopping the problem since the problem already kind of exists with the deluxe skins we have now coupled with the Tennogen helmets. But if you really, really, for whatever reason, need to identify a frame, you have two options to do that very easily:
1: Look at your map. You can clearly see their icons which show the default helmet of whatever frame they're using.
2: Hit esc and look at what their equipment is. You don't even have to hover over it, as their frame will be clearly displayed as one of the first things in the list.
