Sun dimming affecting plant textures

I do not know what the sun dimming is for, but currently it is affecting the tree textures in a way which makes them autumnal all-year round. This seems unintentional and at the very least unrealistic. (Maybe the textures are calculated based on daylight time?) I'm posting about it here because it may need fixing.
