So it's really weird, but I was able to use the mod fine, my 8th Generation Lasombra vampire was making ghouls and they were leveling and I was giving them traits, but then I added a few mods and now the overlay for the Tool Tips in the top right goes dark and the Ghoul trait panel shows the minor notifications in the top left in the Ghoul traits panel.

Leaving me unable to apply their attributes unless I convert them to vampires.

However I had her run into fire over and over to take damage so I could use the Vampiric Healing ability using her Vitae until she ran out, then once she was human again, I gave her Vitae, turning her into an unbonded ghoul again, the best part is that she retained her skill point that was unallocated.

I removed all of the mods and the issue persisted so I don't really think there is a fix you can look after, but the fact that you can remove ghoulism and re-ghoul them to fix it is worth mentioning here.
