I do have an inquiry though.
Is it possible to edit turkey frequency in the mod or config files? I'm tryna figure out if I can.
My problem is, I'm using this as a regular mod during normal gameplay, rather than a fun holiday mess around mod. Turkeys are absolutely everywhere in the biomes that turkeys spawn in (I'm doing Ragnarok right now.) and other dinos are few and far between... I was kind of expecting turkeys to be as frequent as dodos, but I'm tripping all over them. lol
I'm a bit worried that they're taking up wild spawns for all my other dinos +Jurassic Park mod/etc non-OP fun things, but I also don't know Ark's spawning system well enough to verify that.
tl;dr I wanted to ask if it's feasible to get an easy config option to adjust turkey spawns to more natural rates?
or
Though I love that we can slaughter poultry, I'm kind of ignoring the OP poultry shooter in-game anyway--if anything, would it be likely that we can have a turkey standalone mod with the lower rates? I've gotten attached to my birbs, :D
Thoughts?
I believe there's a setting you can put in your server config to turn down the spawns. I'll probably turn down the spawns on my end, too -- they don't need to be super common. =)
I'll look up the server config code later tonight, and get back to you. =)
And if you just wanted the Turkeys, you could block the Cooker and Poultry Shooter engrams, and then you'd just have the wild Turkeys. =D
I saw other mention about the turkey standalone and thought I'd contribute my perspective to the discussion. Wasn't aware there was an Ark option to custom block engrams but I see it now. That's pretty useful. :o
Neat idea. =) I might have to look into that and see how hard it would be
Hey! Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Here's the spawn code:
Hey, sorry for the delay. I've confirmed that one Wildcard's updates broke the regular Turkey for some reason -- I'll get that fixed in the next update. Thanks for letting me know!
There's no SUPER turkey in the mod currently -- do you want me to add it?
Right now there's just "Turkeys", which are about as weak as a dodo
