Disabled all other mods, still having this problem.

In the top left of the screen, where you usually see your active item, there is instead a blank space. The charge bar is still there, but no item. When trading active items, I can see the item I should have had is put on the pedastal, and the new one doesn't appear, so it's not a case of some items having no textures.
