Why is there light in the sky before sunrise and after sunset?
Since this question comes up a lot, I'm going to explain a little more about how the sun and daylight work, both in real life and in the game.

First, check the ACTUAL daylight times for the city you want to check. This is for example Seattle, Washington: https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/usa/seattle

RIGHT NOW, 24 March, sunrise is 7:04am and sunset is 7:27pm. Since I base the mod on the wednesday of the week after the weekend I update it, it is now two days behind so times are about 4 minutes off, but that is not something I can really help unless I were to update this every day (and I don't plan on doing that).

On the same page you can see the times for the astronomical, nautical. and civil twilight as well, which is when light begins to actually appear on the horizon. Since the game has a pretty good lighting system, you can already see light begin to appear over an hour before actual sunrise, and likewise it to remain light until almost an hour after sunset.
