The reason for naming the Christian Warrior Monks the Kishi Order.
So, you're probably here wondering.

EoNightcore, why is the Kishi Order named the way it is? Does it have any significance?

The Short Answer is...
No, the founder of the Kishi Order just thought it sounded cool and it just trended from there.

The Long Answer is..............

It does have some significance, because I was basing the Christian Warrior Monks off the Christian Holy Orders of Europe, mostly because Holy Orders never historically existed in Japan. Now, as I read up on the Templar, Hospitaller, and Teutonic orders of Japan, I came to realize that their names were actually very, very simple

The Knight Templar's name came from the fact that they were named the
Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon
(Latin) Pauperes commilitones Christi Templique Salomonici

The Knights Hospitaller's name came from their name
Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem
(Latin) Ordo Fratrum Hospitalis Sancti Ioannis Hierosolymitani

And the Teutonic Knight's name came from
Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem
(Latin) Ordo domus Sanctæ Mariæ Theutonicorum Hierosolymitanorum

Thus, in simple terms, they are respectively
The Temple Knights
The Hospital Knights
The German Knights

Creative names, no?

Using google translate, I learned that Kishi pretty much meant Knight (The other translation was Naito, which felt just plain funny and too foreign). Thus, with that name, I combined it with Samurai to turn it into....

The Kishi Samurai

But that felt too familiar in name to the regular Samurai units, so I converted it into

The Kishi Kachi
(Bushi would be more accurate than Kachi, but Kachi sounded awesomer and meant Foot Infantry, which most Kishi Order units are).

After that, it was simple enough to convert some of the rankings from the other Holy Orders into the Kishi Kachi order. Which gave rise to the Kishi Order Master.

And after that? Well, that's pretty much history in the making.....

As for the Kirisuto-Kyo Clerics and Kirisuto Fanatics, those were relatively simple compared to the Kishi Order Units.

Kirisuto means Christian
Kyo means doctrine.

The Kirisuto-Kyo Clerics are basde off the idea of the Norse War Clerics from Medieval II Total War. However, unlike those Clerics, the Kirisuto-Kyo Clerics are a more peasantly bunch, led by jesuit priests from Europe, instead of the nobility that was the Norse War Clerics.

As for the Kirisuto Fanatics, those are based off the fact that certain groups of people are very fanatical about religion. As can be seen with the Shimabara Rebellion (Tokugawa Shogunate persecutes christianity, rebellion occurs), or with the Kakure Kirishitan (Hidden Christians) of Japan.

As for why they have swords? Well, Yari and Bow Ashigaru already existed, so I decided to give them swords. Think of it as them as a mob of rebels stealing the status symbol of the Samurai class and using it against their feudal tyrannic superiors.
