Roadmap
EnduringStockpile Development Roadmap
  • DONE: realistic effect ranges
  • DONE: more realistic flash-burn and ignition effects
  • DONE: dial-a-yield weapons (use wire to select the yield of the nuke)
  • DONE: realistic fallout with decay and dependent on ground/water or air burst
  • DONE: different blast/fire effect range dependent on wether it was ground or air burst (as IRL)
  • DONE: icons!
  • DONE: prompt radiation burst and neutron bombs
  • DONE: wire geiger counter entity that outputs the current radiation level in it's location
  • DONE: radiation protection pills
  • DONE: realistic radiation and shielding factors
  • TO DO: radiation protection suits
  • TO DO: rework/improve blast shockwave
  • DONE: Radiation HUD with geiger and dosimeter
  • TO DO: Control panel

The shockwave thing could definetively use a rework. I buildt a small bunker specifically to survive a nuclear blast, 4 heavy anchors immovable to prevent prop phys damage once unfrozen, sufficient radioactive sheltering with really thick walls, a shock absorbing system and a heat shield but still dead by shockwave when im surrounded by shock dampening stuff such as elastic connecting walls with some room inbetween to move and sitting in a chair. hope it helps thanks P.S maybe call the rad pills Rad-X since why not

Oh man... The shockwave code (default) is really not that advanced that it would take into account all that preparation. I wish it did.

First of all, i'd really like for radiation to take into account the thickness of walls that protect you, i just haven't found a way yet. What i need is for lua rangers to return how much material they're gone through.

Second, shock absorbers are only used in bunkers because a ground burst will cause an earthquake, that's how bunkers are destroyed. The "shockwave" we're talking about here is the blast overpressure (air blast) and the only way to resist that would be a very heavy construction, like missile silos are hardened to resist more than 300psi overpressures (5psi blows away a house).

Maybe if i take into account the density (weight / volume) of props and if they're welded to the world? That will require some math and lots of fine tuning, thanks for the idea.

thanks, and yes it was a surface burst. Altough I do believe the walls should be able to survive that given the density and weight I understand it's still in development and I appreciate the effort you've put into it.

I literally just got Gmod back working on Linux yesterday thanks to the newest Proton update, so i'll probably update it soonish.

im sorry if im a idiot but some of the nuclear weapons come up as erros

you probably dont have sprops installed

glad to know you're not dead

oh thanks

What are the plans for the nuclear reactor? for now it just seems to be a very effective area denial tool. I really hope you can control it and have it melt down as well as keep it in check.

You can wire the reactor so you can controll the radiation levels and yes the plan is for it to be able to blow up

thats amazing

So is this addon still being worked on? This is the only addon that really simulates radiation realistically and its sad that the last update was in 2019.

Well the last update was Oct 20, so a year ago, so yes it's not being updated right now, but there's little left to actually do, i don't want to keep stuffing things into it for no reason.
