Thanks for creating this Discussion.
All Mod Classes including FEP+ Classes in Torchlight 2 rely mostly on either Strength, Focus or a mix of both.
= = =
If a Skill is Dps heavy then invest Strength.
If a Skill is non Dps heavy then invest Focus.
If a Skill has equal amounts of both then invest into both Strength and Focus.
Dexterity is only for Critical Chance and Dodge however these can be gained through other methods. 100 is usually enough.
Increase this further with Boris the Stat Enchanter using high level Items.
Vitality and lesser known Defenses are almost always better gained through Items instead.

Next are the Skill "Roles" or at least I unofficially define them that way.
Almost every Class will rely on a Main Damage Skill- this is usually a Skill that can be used quickly and reliably to strike foes and carries lots of Damage either in high amounts or types.
Next are the Supportive Skills usually sub divided as Boosts to the Player, Weakening Foes, Spawning Minions, Movement or Resourcing Health and other things.
= = =
Next is to check whether the Class has Large Area Damage or Crowd Control Skills and whether these last for a long time on the battlefield. Several of these Skills will be helpful to have if available.
= = =
Invest 15 Points into a Main Damage Skill.
Then consider investing 1, 5 or 10 points into other Skills.
Only invest 15 points if a Skill rewards maximum investment with high Damage or Defense otherwise save the points for more powerful Skills.

I hope this helps! ^_^
