One of the things I've always wanted for FEP is a Samurai Class. What would be unique is that 'preferred weapon' would be different for the genders. In real history the male smaurai used the katana(sword) while the female samurai(they existed!) preferred the naginata(spear). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naginata
For FEP+ and if it can be done, the skills for the Samurai Class can be the same however if a character is Male a sword will be required for Skills that depend on a certain weapon(sword) and if Female the weapon type requirement will be Spear/Polearms.

I'm trying to play as the monk. it would be nice if his skills would allow him to use 2H greathammers. the mod adds "bo staff" as a great hammer. Yet there are no specific polearms for this mod.

I've been wondering how to edit the Kensei (2 Handed Sword Master) to represent this and tonight it came to me.

Change the starting weapons for the Genders at the Selection Screen. The Kensei Class description is lacking anyway so writing an added Samurai weapon connection is reasonable. (If I needed Elite Samurai then I would hire Kensei).
Change the Kensei Skills to also include Polearms. If the word "Sword" appears in any Skill then change it's description to "Blade" which is a universal term that includes Polearms (Spears).

I propose a rewrite of the Kensei description:

Apparently both Swords and Polearms were still available to anyone from what I've sourced. More importantly however from a gameplay point: Having an existing Class support both Polearms and 2H Swords with Skills is useful for TL2.
