First of all: great work! i am playing now for a while with cartage and it was never so hard to conquer syracuse :-) I played hundreds of hours with dei mod but your mod gives me new challenges! The mod changes almost everything but not tooo much.. it is still a pleasure to play! I don't like when there are too many units... One concern I have, however: its so hard to conquer new settlements that it seems the CAI is not moving. The possessions of provinces of the factions are the same as in the beginning of the game. My idea is to change the garrisons from elite to lower tier units? --- but that is only a small note on my part - i enjoy the game very! compliments

Thanks man! I will remove auto resolve defender bonus next update. So it will be easier for AI to conquer cities.

When you are at war against barbarian tribes, once you take out the opposing general the entire army routes. Barbarian tribes in vanilla take a severe morale penalty when you take out the general already so I think its a little too much. Sometimes when youre able to smash a general with your cav and get him by luck, the entire enemy army routes. I feel like thats unbalanced.

Ok, i will decrease moral penalty. And what are your impressions of REM?
Mountain Owl 11 Feb, 2018 @ 11:40am
I actually do like how hard it is for the AI to take settlements. It's not supposed to be easy, that's why, with the exception of pontus, parthia, and the selucids most of these factions boarders were mostly unchanged by the time rome encountered then. Rather than downgrade the garrisons just beef up Parthia if that's possible. I really love this slow moving campaign that you only get when it's really hard to take a settlement.

If you can make it optional. Maybe an optional part 8 that weakens the garrisons and the AI autoresolve. It's good for people to have that option but I prefer it the way it is.

And of course the +1000 party loyalty has to go asap. Wouldn't be rome without civil war and endgame the only worthy adversary for you is your own forces betraying you.

Hi! I can make submod for garrisons in future if many people ask. My mod brings new exp, and big historical garrisons are the part of it. AI vs AI autoresolve is default now. +1000 party loyalty will be removed today's update.

I really liked your old tweaks to the autoresolve though. Im tired of seeing 1 stack armies steamroll large empires. If there's a full garrison with a full stack army in it you or the AI should need a minimum of 3 full stack armies to break it. Plus the AI is terrible at managing large empires and small divided tribes are the only thing that gives me worthwhile battles.
Can you include the option to reactivate those AI vs AI autoresolve tweaks?
Starsmil  [developer] 12 Feb, 2018 @ 1:51pm
"1 stack armies steamroll large empires" - you mixed up Rem with vanilla, man )
"AI is terrible at managing large empires" - start new campaign on Very Hard and u will see.

That AI autoresolve tweak made cities allmost impossible to take by AI. U will never achieve perfection dude. It is just a game and big garrisons make its role. I can give u autoresolve tweak as submod.
Btw this your request is in conflict with previous your request to make garrisons small, cause "factions boarders mostly unchanged". Can not demand the opposite ))
Mountain Owl 12 Feb, 2018 @ 4:34pm
That was someone else asking for smaller garrisons I countered saying like them larger. And I know what REM is I was just worried the autoresolve change might change that and make it more like vanilla.

Another issue im noticing is the unit type limit.
I think it's reading the total numer ever recruited rather than the number in my armies. I used to have a lot of Principes. Currently have 39 settlments in 11 provinces. A few turns back I had 8 units of principes and 3 of them were destroyed in a massive battle outside of apollonia. I go back to rome thinking I'll just raise 3 more of them and ferry them over. Well it says I've recruited the maximum amount so I go through all of my legions to see if i have any spares in another legion. I don't. Throughout all 15 legions I have fileded I only have the 5 principes. Also there doesn't seem to be a problem with the triarii as I have well over a dozen fielded and can recruit 6 more of them. It should also be noted (since it's the same problem) that I don't have ANY hastati left and it says that I've fielded the max amount (granted I do have a lot of socii hastati.)

Aside from the small fixable issues I love the mod. Keep up the good work.

Also if it turns out that you found a way to measure my legion barracks against my auxillia barracks and scaled the max unit counts to that ratio I'll will call you a genius because that is really innovative way to go about it and then I'd just need to build more legion barracks to raise the count. That would make total sense. If that's not the case then it's a bug.
Starsmil  [developer] 13 Feb, 2018 @ 2:47am
In that times, u can't spam endless amounts of principes or someone else, u know. Cause u had limit on ammunition, trained men, etc. Btw Rome have the Biggest units' limits in my Mod. Units in garrisons also count (it's engine thing). You can't get them out from nowhere ) So, more regions u have, less units u can recruit (but only some vanilla). Its how i limit magic spam in this game.

That was the answer I was hoping for. Well thought out. It makes sense and adds a bit of realism.
HDgamer36 15 Feb, 2018 @ 4:34pm
To add to the limit of unit, you should check for some faction, like greek state, if you start to really expand, you'll encounter the problem that you cannot recruit any good unit or because they're all use in your garnison that you have no real way of removing them. In that case, you end up with low army force, and overpower garnison that might be useless if it's in a secure area. I would recommend to add the option to have low level garnison on a region or not, so you can manage where your good unit are in a more specific way.
Starsmil  [developer] 16 Feb, 2018 @ 2:55am
@HDgamer36, cmon man! :) There are a lot of good greek units that are not in garrisons! In Rem when u build higher level city, u get more elite units in garrison.
