Other ideas for improvements
1. DONE - Getting rid of the 'strip' buttons and allowing all owned weapons to appear in the inventory, with items already equipped to be greyed out. Add the ability to switch a greyed out item from its current user to the selected soldier by clicking on it. Probably have some sort of confirmation message.

2. DONE - Having a disabled entry for weapons equipped to any soldier that is on a mission.
Weapons are hidden

3. DONE - Custom sorting, with a tagging system that allows ini customizable tagging of any item to assign it to a certain category.

Not only utility slots, but ones that allow only one type of thing. Would work with this really well.

Weapon/Item image on the catagories to make identifying them even quicker?
That'd be helpful for quickly sorting through stuff.

I think it would be very nice to have colorized weapon tiers. I've got a lot of weapon mods installed and my lists are getting pretty big. This mod helps a LOT with that problem of course, but I'm just thinking it would be cool if somehow I could look at my list and see like all the laser stuff with red icons and plasma with green and so on. I imagine that's probably ouside the scope of this mod / would require a lot of cross-mod compatibility, but it's just an idea I wanted to float out there and see if it was something that felt worth doing.

Granted, I've got the stuff that gives me all the types of guns as cosmetic options for each tier, so I guess choice number 1 is if you want to do actual tiers or what it looks like...if that makes sense. Feel free to disregard these 5 am ramblings. Thanks for the helpful mod!

I just had an annoying situation: I had several units of the same ammo, all equipped to soldiers. But I couldn't tell which were equipped to soldiers in the squad and which weren't. So I kept selecting an ammo, only to find that it had taken it from another soldier in the squad. That got really annoying.

Suggested fix: Tell us if the soldier with the equipped item is in the squad or barracks.

Thanks for this mod! Here are some suggestions for more improvements:
1) Please don't strip the soldier's entire loadout when taking something from them! My reinforcements in avenger defense showed up without their sniper rifles because I had taken their ammo or something from them.
2) Add an option to save loadout configurations on a per-soldier basis. So that after a soldier got unequipped, next time I use them I can just hit one button instead of trying to remember exactly which set of upgrades and items they had. At the very least, something to configure a global default loadout so avenger defense reinforcements don't come in with nothing but a bullpup and a molotov.
3) Adding to Bilateralrope's suggestion: If it's easier than figuring out how to inform which items are in the squad and splitting the items apart (e.g. when I have 3 vests of the same type), just don't allow weapons/items to be stolen from soldiers in the squad, period.
4) Hide categories with no equippable items in them. E.g. don't show me psi amps category if I'm not a psion.
