For a desert environment, I'd say Agave. It's edible, and medicinal, but most importantly, it produces delicious and culturally significant Tequila.

Agree to add silk but also remove the penguins. Maybe replace with mink.

The penguins are not being removed, and silk is already in the game.

May I humbly recommend adding Seals? In the colder coastal areas?

I'm not sure if this is intended, but I had penguins spawn on plains tiles. I'd like to suggest making it so that penguins can only spawn on tundra or snow tiles. There are some penguins that live in tropical climates, but for the most part, penguins live in the artic

You do know that some species of penguins occur in Oceania, Africa, and South America.

Three things:

First: Coconut as a luxury or bonus resource (I can't decide). It is actually farmed in the Caribbean and other tropical countries.

They could be improved with a Plantation.
Coconuts could provide +1 Gold, +1 Food and +1Culture. Since they're important for us in the Caribbean. They are represented in flags and other symbols.

Second: The Yellowfin Tuna.

It should be a Luxury Resource.

Improved by Fishing Boats.

They could yield: +1Food +1Gold and +1Production. And the Amenities, of course.

Reason: It's a very commercial fish. They're even important in Sport Fishing. And let's not even mention how valued it is in Cuisine. It is considered a luxurious and most expensive fish to eat (according to many sites, including this one: https://themostexpensive.org/most-expensive-fish-to-eat/). They thrive in the Caribbean and other seas and oceans (Yeah, I'm from the Caribbean, that's why I recommend resources from there). And very important: Its Conservation Status is "Least Concern", so they're truly abundant, important and ecologically ethical to add in the game.


Finally: Just an idea, this amazing mod should be divided in separate mods per resource, just like Gedemo's City States, since the game has a asset limit (sadly), so we players could select what resources to subscribe to according to our taste.

Maple should only spawn on woods. You get a movement penalty in the hex but no benefit for the maple tree woods.
