Stellaris

Space Communism! (Version Defunct)
Suggestion : State socialism
This should be a thing in this mod. Not stalinists but state socialists with Worker ownership of the means-of-production, Like market-socialists (Titoists) or Simmilar forms of government.

Authoritarianism and Socialism are incompatible.
@Quanto
You mean the ethos in stellaris or IRL?
You can have an authoritarian state with worker-ownership of the economy.

I mean IRL. An authoritarian state would undermine the principles behind worker ownership of the economy. Democracy must exist in both Civic, AND Economic life for socialism to work.
@Quanto
Not neccesarly, socialism is just worker-ownership of the MOP. You could Have a dictator with Control of the government while the Workers control the Economy (This has existed IRL). Socialism does not have to not have a state. I would imagine such an ingame empire as being egalitarian with an excutive comitee government as well as worker self direction.
Pretty sectarian of you m8.
Why not do something like the other socialist mod where it adds a vanguard party?
I want my spaceborne ML fix dang it.
An authoritarian state made up of individuals unaccountable to the workers is incompatible with socialism, but you could have a state that's totally run by the public/working class as a whole but that's authoritarian in the sense that it can rule on any aspect of people's personal lives. It wouldn't be very nice, but it would technically be socialism.

How to tell the people who actually read up about their ideology from the LARPers, lmao. Good going Quanto.
@Calamity
Which one of us is the LARPER?

You. Authortarianism and worker ownership of the MOP are completely incompatible.
...judging by their profile picture, I highly doubt @Ackoli is in favour of any sort of authoritarianism. I agree with you that you can't have both an oligarchy of any sort and worker-ownership of the means of production (at least outside of a very advanced stage of class struggle where the oligarchy's days are numbered, anyway - transitory dual power as a manifestation of class conflict is something that's been seen in revolutions & insurrections throughout history), but them not understanding that doesn't make them a LARPer, it just means their politics need development

Valourious, on the other hand, sounds pretty LARPery. lol

Thats pretty sectarian, You cannot get anything done if you hate everyone who Has a slightly different ideology.. What if the workers collectively Opress A certain Political faction, such as fascists or Capitalist counter-revolutionaries? That would be authortarian, But does not contradict socialism.

I am a non-sectarian Libetarian socialist, So i would support Leninists and classical marxists in a united front. Sectarianism is a massive problem on the left and should be crushed wherever possible on all sides.

@Alliecat you see what I'm talking about?
Calamity. What I see is that Ackoli has better praxis than you seem to
I wouldn't go so far as to say I *trust* Leninists, but I also have no illusions of the possibility of building an effective mass revolutionary movement against capital while excluding a huge swathe of leftist traditions from it
